So here's my honest take on Windows App. I've tested a bunch of remote desktop and cloud PC apps, and this one stacks up pretty well. The ability to access your Windows environment from anywhere is super useful, and the performance is decent most of the time. The multi-touch controls are a nice touch too. That said, it can be finicky to set up initially and the lag can be noticeable depending on your internet. But for a free app, it's a pretty solid option if you need that Windows flexibility on the go.

Pros

  • Tons of functionality to access Windows remotely
  • Multi-touch and gesture support work great
  • Free to use, no subscription required
  • Integrates with cloud services like Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Simple to set up once you get the hang of it

Cons

  • Setup can be tricky at first, takes some tinkering
  • Performance can be laggy depending on internet speed
  • Limited control options compared to using a real PC
  • Gets a bit repetitive if you're just doing basic tasks

Description

Been using Windows App for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you connect to remote Windows experiences like Azure Virtual Desktop and your work PC from your Android device. Pretty solid if you need to access Windows stuff on the go.

Here’s what you can do – you can remote into your office computer, use virtual desktops in the cloud, even get a virtual Windows PC just for you. There’s also file sharing and printing capabilities, which is pretty handy. And the multi-touch and gesture support works great, even on my tablet.

Look, if you need to use Windows apps and services remotely, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the setup can be a bit tricky at first and the performance isn’t always amazing – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you’re in that use case.

Really when you can catch it in good working order. I think it to be one of the easier remote desktop programs to navigate with. Wouldn't use it to game...

Works pretty well, though onboarding could be improved. Started by typing in my Microsoft account, then it turns out only work or school accounts are supported. At home, setting up...
