Searching for whiskey using a filter within 20 miles of my zip code, but 95% of the results are thousands of miles away across the country.
This is a very practical and reliable app. You should check the wine prices, rating, and tasting notes before you purchase any wine. Truly oustanding and leads you to the best prices.
This app cannot recognize many types of wine. Not only new but also 2018-2019. A very popular and expensive highly rated French cognac has 3+ here. Maybe this app is good. But I wouldn’t like to trust this app.
The photo search option is broken. Every single bottle I take a photo of comes up empty. Text search works. Edit: in response to the developer, I will send you a screenshot of my search history in the app.
Would like to have a organizational system (folders and such) in the saved and reviewed wines and liquors section. But aside from that its a very good database and well made app!
I like this app over other because of layout, all information is clear and easy to read, search by photo is working pretty well.
Weird error notification appears every time I search for a bottle. Other than that does what is needed. Edit, the error went away with the latest update.
The location tool doesnt work after the first time! Very annoying and kill the purpose of the app. The message says: “location update failed”
A wonderful wine app! it’s full of accurate and useful data on individual wines and varietals. One of the best wine apps around. the only problem I have had is with the camera function. It does not always display the correct wine.
The main problem with this app is that, for it to be properly useful, payment of a monthly subscription (GBP7.99) is required. I find that far too expensive and will use Vivino instead.
After the most recent update, I havent been able to successfully scan any bottle labels. Error message appears: “Sorry, the requested action could not be completed. Please try again.”
Almost any wine and vintage, even small batch or obscure labels can usually be found here. Most retailers that show the wines in stock actually have them. I have purchased a number of wines at the prices listed and they are almost always correct. Wine-searcher is an invaluable resource.
I work as a sommelier and often advice this app to my guests. Sometimes, when the guests download it, it somehow sets some random languages, that guests even don’t use on their phones. And we can’t find how to change the language in your settings.
The app works great when the products are listed. Quite a few that I couldn’t find details on unfortunately. Sooo many wines etc out there I completely understand that everything can’t be listed but would’ve been nice…
