Truly the worst streaming app I've ever used. It logs me out randomly and never keeps track of where I pause in my podcast. Without fail, every single time, I have to spend forever trying to find where I left off because this stupid app can't even do that for me. I only keep it because the podcasters I like use it, but even then I'm tempted to just listen to the episodes with ads if it means not dealing with this atrocity. I'm constantly checking for new updates to the app but they don't exist.
Reviews for Wondery: Must-Hear Podcasts
Not worth it, even the free trial. Closes and restarts anytime you go to another app (without closing wondery app). It doesn't actually matter if you download episodes, because the app won't open if you don't have WiFi/data connection. Always slow even when working well. Overall a disappointing app, which is unfortunate because I really like all the parcast pods as well as some others available on here.
I'm ready to cancel my subscription! Every time I get a text or notification it skips the podcast back a few minutes or more. I listen at work or while driving and I can't easily find the spot I was at. It's ridiculous. In typing this, it happened three times! It's not worth it when I can get most of the stuff I listen to from other sources. This needs to be fixed ASAP or I'm canceling.
I work with my hands and its very difficult for me to stop what I'm doing to re-open the app because it crashes all the time. ): I pay for this because Pandora Premium still includes ads on my favorite pods, but at least it doesn't crash. It also doesn't make me re-listen to episodes. I always check mark as played but it doesn't seem to matter much. I usually just end up having to listen to a TC podcast I already know the ending to.
It's a good thing Wondery Plus is a free trial subscription, otherwise I'd want my money back. You have to use Google Podcast to search because the app is useless. It finds nothing. Constant uninstall/reinstall due to errors, "can't access", "no internet connection" and "not available". Doesn't resume or sync across devices. Doesn't hold the place where you pause. Update: The cheesy canned replies from the developer are pathetic. Maybe Amazon will fix the app once the 4 month free trial ends.
Worked after initial install. Set up my profile and picked some podcasts. Got puah notifications. Clicked on one two days later. Won't log me in. I put info in and it just sits on 'in progress.' Finally uninstalled and reinstalled. Same issue. Tried signing up for a new account. Put in info, hit submit, it stays stuck on 'in progress.' What a waste.
I like that I get early access to my favorite podcast episodes. What I don't like is that this app drains my battery so much faster than other apps. I also don't like that it glitches and freezes, having to force close and reopen. Not a huge deal, because I'm doing a free trial. Otherwise, I'd cancel and stick to the free platforms with ads.
Glad I only paid for a month. I feel bad for creators who have contracts w/ Wondery & are stuck w/ them. The content is great but the app is TERRIBLE/HEAVY. It crashes constantly. You have to manually play each episode; rarely will it automatically start the next one in a series. Now, it's refusing to play anything even after uninstall/reinstall. My phone keeps giving me warnings that W+ is taking up too much memory/processing power, slowing other apps & functionality of my very powerful phone.
I have used this app for years and really enjoyed it. But the last couple months, it will not download episodes to listen to offline. I can click it, but it just spins and spins. It might randomly show up in my downloads, but that's rare. Very frustrating.
I'd really like to leave a better rating. The podcasts that I listened to are great. My issue is that it absolutely kills your battery due to it wanting the battery saver turned off. Yes, you can leave the saver feature on. But then the app constantly hits you with a pop-up that tells you it works better with it off. Which it doesn't, the pop-up is just annoying. I didn't even make it to considering paying for the plus side of the app because of this.
