UPDATE: 3/16/25 App still sucks. It would be nice if this app could remember anything about me or the company I work for. Having to enter every piece of my information, from scratch, every single time, is infuriating. There's a "Remember Me" box that does nothing if checked. This company is so widely used, it's insanity that the app lacks basic functionality. Also, some of the tiles are missing on the mobile version, which is a pointless limitation, especially with so many working from home.
Reviews for Workday
I hate workday, but if this app had anywhere close to feature parody with the web app, it would be good enough. But it doesn't. Every single entry for time worked before and after lunch has to be input manually. There's no option to add time for multiple days at once. It takes 20min to enter a freaking time sheet on mobile. The only time I use the mobile app is when it's impossible to get to my computer, and it is such a painful ui that I often just give up and deal with a late paycheck.
Zero stars. Hate it! Runs like it was created by a first semester high school student. It doesn't recognize my group to sign in. EVERY time I clock in I get a security alert for a new device, even though it's the same device every time. I have to click 'remember me' every time. Never does remember. Not the first app I have had to use for jobs, but it is the worst I have had to use. The others have been sooo much easier to use and have better memories.
I went from using old-school time punch cards to this failure of an app. When punching in/out, instead of taking a time card from the box and punching my time, I have to open multiple menus (with app loading times) and confirm my time. When finishing the day, I have to allocate my hours to a project, which means creating an entirely new time record for the same amount of hours. The whole process just seems inefficient and unproductive, and I wish we hadn't made the switch.
If I could give it zero stars I would. Worst time clock system ever. App and system is not even remotely intuitive. App continually crashes or doesn't connect, crashes in the middle of clocking in, time/pay loss from restarting multiple times. Never confident my time or pay is correct. This system has more security hoops to jump than my bank and credit card accounts. Also not made for 24 hour services. Expect to be unable to clock in/out at least once a week for a 4 to 5 hour period.
Horrible, unintuitive and requires an unusual number of PIN # changes. Banks don't require this level of security. It's a bit ridiculous. The overall app is not very easy to use and forces you to jump through several hoops to get where you want to go. Logical places for things don't seem to be in logical places. I really miss ADP, frankly. And that's saying a lot.
This is just a front-end for whatever web browser we have installed. Our web browser still opens to do anything. There's no point in setting up biometrics to log in, the app forcibly erases the whole point of a simpler login by forcing you to use your password every single time. 'for your security', of course. I can just use a normal web browser instead.
This app stinks. Zenefits was way better. They make you change your password like every 3 months, but don't even have an eye icon to see the passwords you're typing in. I had to add some state tax paperwork but thought I may have made a mistake, but it doesn't allow you to go back and edit it. When changing payment elections, you have to use the website, but even then, there's this tiny little obscure button to add a direct deposit account that I missed repeatedly. Aweful
It takes so long to sign in on the iPad at work. The company we used before, it was quick and easy. I do not like how your time is calculated. I do not like the format of the paystubs. Sections are left blank. Functionality is poor. You think you are supposed to click one icon to get what would seem like obvious information, only to have to click more tabs and more menus to still end up in the wrong place. Let's push to make it easier to navigate.
Workday has a lot of steps that could and should be automated. It brings up a lot of warnings some that are important, some that are important but cryptic, some that don't mean anything, and others warnings that aren't super important but are impossible to resolve so they'll always be there. Also, when I use the wall clock to clock in, it occasionally says it worked when it actually didn't. Once you figure out how to use it, it at least works (mostly), but there's quite a lot to improve here.
