Reviews for XBXPlay: Remote Play

For the last few days I've been getting the following error: "An unexpected error occurred!" Other than that, the app is great. Edit1: Thanks for replying! So, the error appears when I touch the button connect on the main screen of the app. No active VPN nor blocking app/ads of any kind. Tried the official app and connected fine, so network may not be an issue. I'm gonna reinstall the app to see if it works. Edit2: Re-install did the job. Sorry for the trouble. Maybe android being funny.

I've been using the xbox app which has worked fine....but I decided to give this app a try since it can get 1080p. However, I can hardly connect to the xbox with this app. When I am able to connect, the lag makes the game unplayable. I'm using a s23 ultra with a backbone controller. I'll move my rating back up if issues ever get resolved.

The official "Xbox" app doesn't compare. Quality (resolution AND fps) is better, the entire screen on my phone is used, BARELY any latency (I only notice because I'm a hardcore gamer) and I play on my mobile network while I'm away from my xbox. The ONLY downsides are: 1.) I had to learn how to forward ports. 2.) The audio lags when I use my Bluetooth earbuds (have to use wired headphones). 3.) Mic doesn't work in xbox parties (discord works). *USES ALOT OF MOBILE DATA FOR ELITE PERFORMANCE!*

The playstation version runs very well remotely but this app doesn't work at all remotely, I bought it thinking it's like the playstation but I am disappointed. After the quick response, I understand the difference between the 2 apps but I am still using it for local remote play and to be honest it's better than the Microsoft one.

Takes a little set up, But once you do it's worth it. Definitely better than the free xbox app. You could always get a refund for 24 hours If it does not work out It has a lot of features just takes little bit to Understand how to use them. Biggest feature is that The video Quality is much better , at 1080p vs 720p. Plus you can play without a controller, using the touch screen

Don't get me wrong I like the app....I also bought the Playstation version of the app, which is FLAWLESS. Primarily for me, it enables me to connect to my ps5 WHILE ON A DIFFERENT WIFI OR NETWORK. I thought this app would be the same, so I purchased it, (Don't laugh) but I really REALLY wanted to play GTA 4 remotely, but can't because xbox's app doesn't support 360 games being played remotely. This app allows it, but doesn't allow you to connect if you aren't on the same wifi..I'm heartbroken 💔

I was using the Xbox App to remote play my games while trying to fall asleep. It was fine. I bought this app cause I also have the PS version from the same developer and had great experience with it. Goes the same for this app. Games look great at 1080p and now I can also play my 360 games. Game changer. Keep up the fantastic work developer. Microsoft/Sony...hire this person!

hi i was wondering if i could get a refund as there are no issues with my wifi good download and upload speeds. the software in the app is fine its just that whenever it does eventually connect to my xbox its virtually unplayable as there is so much lag... its really a shame as i was looking forward to trying out this new tech.

Runs very well over Wi-Fi connection; runs higher resolution than the official Xbox app also able to play games that the official app doesn't support. Also no noticeable input lag when on Wi-Fi I am able to play precision platformers like ori perfectly. Using this app along with Gamesir X2 pro feels like a proper Xbox handheld that I can play anywhere around the house with the TV off. Worth every cent.

It really works and I tried so far with Fifa23. the only thing I have noticed that once I press on the xbox home button while playing on the gamepad to get back to the main xbox menu, it freezes the video streaming while the audio keep working, then after 15 seconds of blindly go back and forth, the video start streaming. This is always happening.

Decided to buy this as the Xbox app has constant audio issues and controller slow downs despite having an internet connection that is way passed the apps recommended connection. This app works much better so far with my tablet. There is a few stutters during gameplay but not a huge issue. I've tried it with some Xbox Series X games and Xbox 360 games and I'm quite impressed. It needs some work, but it does exactly what you ask it to do.

It just works! Like seriously I started off a tad annoyed that I had to pay £6, but it just works. Which is a damn sight better than the Xbox app itself. Good job. As good as your PS Play app. Very happy just wish it was a tad cheaper, but you get what you pay for. A bit concerned of data protection on having to enter my log-in details for my Xbox account...

This used to be a great app but as of latest update it hardly ever connects to my Xbox. I have reinstalled twice and still the same issue. If I am lucky enough to have it connect once and then shutdown, I can never reconnect remotely until I go and turn the console on. Official Xbox app works fine, remote play settings are all green and it goes to sleep, not off. So sad, this app is basically useless now :(

It just works. I've used the official app on and off for years. Maybe have a 75% success rate whether it would connect or not. Even if it did, you could see the reduced video quality. Since I've been using this app, its worked literally everytime. I just pick up my Logitech G Cloud, launch the app, and in ~30 seconds I'm streaming from my Series X at resolution that beats the official app. Well worth the purchase for the ease of use, consistent performance (frame rate), and video quality.

It's fantastic! Some things I'd like changed though: I wish the app would minimize gracefully. When I try to switch to another app, it crashes. Xcloud integration would be amazing. It does this crash on the Logitech G-Cloud, and it doesn't exactly crash, just when it minimizes, and I go back into it, the steam is just a black screen. This doesn't happen on my Odin 2 Portal

This is the only app that works to stream Xbox to Android TV in 1080p. I've tried so many other options and all of them were broken and/or laggy. This is flawless with no lag. I have my Xbox and Android Tv device hardwired to ethernet and would suggest the same approach. Also the simple setup for button mapping allowed me to regain access to my Xbox home button (setup as a two-button press of start+select), which has made things so much easier. Highly recommended and very worth the few bucks.

This app works better than the actual Xbox app for remote play. I was more than happy to pay the $6, because I've used PSPlay for years and love this developer. Normally I hate when apps give me pop-ups telling me to check out their other apps, but in this case, thank you! Lol (Update: for anyone having trouble with switching between their Xbox and remote play when playing 360 games, press and hold Xbox button, select Disconnect Controller, then switch to remote play or Xbox.)

XBXPlay refuse not connect to my Series X, all it does is turn it on, and that's it, I don't have this problem with PSPlay. I factory reset the app and my Xbox three times, it will connect to it when setting it up, but when I want to connect later, it will not connect anymore. I tried everything (all the suggestion on here, and on Reddit), nothing works. It's staying 1 star until you guys patch this, because all those little tricks everyone's keeps throwing around isn't even a temporary fix.

This app seriously needs an update. Ever since the Xbox servers went down recently this app has been awful and disconnects from my Xbox constantly every 5 minutes or less. It works just fine using normal Remote Play on the Xbox app. I've done everything I can possibly do to fix the issue but it still persist no matter what. Edit: Well I'm not sure what changed, but everything is working again normally for now!

I wanted to know if the Xbox has to be on in order for the app to work, cause whenever I just connect using my phone, it tries to find a connection and it fails, but for the psplay app, it wakes the console and connects. I was wondering if there was a way to play the xboxplay without actually turning on the Xbox. But thanks for creating a convenient app ma dude ❤️
