Buggy app. I really wanted to like this app but it's nearly unusable. As long as you're adding products in their list, it works fine. If you add anything in the "Other" category and try to change the description, it won't save the information you put in. It just goes back to "Other". Very frustrating.
Reviews for Yard Mastery: DIY Lawn Care
Nice app. Like the electronic journal but the journal entries need to be editable and deletable. I accidentally ended up with extra entries on the same day as I was figuring out how to use the app and now I can't remove them. But I don't expect that to be a problem going forward now that I know what I'm doing.
Love where the app is going. Would wish to see a 5 day soil temp reading as well as current temperature, and recommended waterings for healthy grass, both in shade and full sun, also a weed identification chart, as well as grass identification chart. Maybe a resources section. I think it's a great start and the journal is much needed. Thank you for all the hard work and effort I know this takes
Last year the app was great. Started using it again this spring and I no longer like it or use it. The calendar function is now bad. I used to be able to open the calendar, go into list view and I could scroll through the days and see everything I did on any day. At first I thought that things I had done were somehow deleted. It turns out that I now need to open a folder under the day to see what I had done. Calendar view is worse to navigate through. Back to using Excel!
I've noticed a few things that need a couple tweaks. The "next application" for pre emergents on the main page. If you already put this in a journal entry with a mow or another fertilizer application, it makes a redundant journal entry. It would be nice if you would be asked if you want to make a journal entry for this application after you get the application complete box. The journal months are alphabetically ordered, not chronological ordered
I am super glad Allyn Hane and his team are developing this app! It is going to be fantastic!! Only things I think could be improved at the moment is the drop-down menus and what you can choose. I.e. for post-emergent I recently just sprayed image weed killer (generic post-em) and that type of thing is not an option on there. Stuff like that. Love the soil temps, though!!! Keep it up, guys!
Good app to keep a journal, but unfortunately the journal is mostly where I see issues. After the revamp done to the journal, only a small line to see each date, annoying and I own one of the biggest screen phones available, should've left that alone. Then if you look at previous history, when you click the back button, it goes back to the most recent journal addition, instead of showing you what you did back 6 months ago which is what you're checking. About to leave the app, to my paper journal
love the journal. I make entries on-the-fly for mowings and product applications. I don't have to remember when I did something, I can just look it up. The soil temps in the app let me know when to lay down my preemergent. The app reminds me of appropriate times to apply fertilizers and other products. Plus, I have my zones & square footages on aerial maps right in my phone! How great is that???
Just started (Day One) with the app and it's useful. I love that I can have my journal and the soil temp in the palm of my hand. I need to download the app on my tablet as well - I hope that the account I created with my phone syncs with my tablet. Otherwise having the journal feature will not be as useless. (4/5/20): One correction, I wish there was MORE viewable access when using the journal. The product/application screen uses TOO MUCH SPACE.
Easy app to use and navigate. They've worked out the major issues from previous reviews, as I haven't had any. Ordering from the app is simple as well. I ordered the Bio-Stem pack and was very surprised my items were shipped within a few hours. No stickers, but they were sold out-- which is probably why I didn't receive any. Products very easy to use and can't wait to see the results in the coming weeks. I've followed the LCN on YouTube the last couple years and have upped my lawn care game.
