Description
Been using Yi Home for a couple months now. It’s basically a home security app that lets you keep an eye on things through live video feeds. Pretty solid if you’re into that kind of thing.
Here’s what you do: You can set up Yi cameras around your house and then use the app to watch the feeds. There’s also a two-way audio feature, so you can chat with people at home. And the 360-degree panoramic view is pretty cool – just move your phone around to see the whole room.
Look, if you’re into home security or just want to keep tabs on your pets/kids, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the video quality can be spotty at times and the ads can get annoying. But overall it does the job. Worth checking out.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take on Yi Home. I've tested a bunch of home security apps and this one's pretty good, but not the best. The features work well and it's easy to use, but the video quality is just okay. And the free version has some annoying ads. Compared to other options, I'd say it's a solid choice if you want a simple way to keep an eye on things at home.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Tons of features like two-way audio and 360-degree views
- Easy to set up and use, even for not-so-techy people
- Free version has most of the important stuff
- Reliable push notifications when motion is detected
Cons
- Video quality could be better, especially in low light
- Ads in the free version can get annoying after a while
- Might be overkill if you just need basic home monitoring
