Reviews for YoLink

Initially had a bad speaker unit. Replacement was easy. Now is working well. The alarm strategies and settings are a bit difficult, but works once figured out. The system is not always stable and online. Couple times per month announcements will be delayed by several minutes, hence the 4-star rating.

l like the sensors; the batt life is great & they work adequately. My two big peeves are the slow (and, not controllable) refresh rate for temps, and the thermostat control is VERY basic. It does have a schedule, but each day of the week must be set. No way to just schedule 24hrs & repeat (there is an awkward "copy" function).

Asks you to connect to device "wifi" but cuts off your internet wifi, if you try to manually enter your actual internet wifi info- you can't. App says you can, but you can't cuz there is only a drop down menu that scans for the device and keyboard won't connect. You can enter a password manually for wifi, but not a SSID name. So you can never connect to the device. Pointless. Returning speaker because app is useless.

Great but still work to be done. The range, ease of use, and reliability are all fantastic. I would like more functionality around the scenes and alarms so that I can set up Off, Home, Away, and even more. I would like to trigger them without using the app i.e. with NFC or a keypad or Google/Alexa integrations.

I've had the leak sensors for several months now and I haven't had any leaks as yet, though I've tested them occasionally and they really give me peice of mind. However, there is a kind of big draw back with the app which is their theme/font color choice. Light green font on white background is tough to see, and there is no option to change it or even apply a dark theme.

Very easy to setup and use. Scan the QR code on the device select bind and it is added. The app shows all YoLink devices. Great thing, if you turn it on, every time a device is triggered, you can get an e-mail and/or text message. Within the message gives you the time, device was triggered and the BATTERY status. No more guessing when you need to replace batteries. The other great thing, If using Alexa, all newly added devices are automatically added to Alexa's device list, no scanning needed.

While I don't use the app for more than managing my devices and double-checking the information those devices are reporting, the devices, app, and infrastructure that I do use are absolutely amazing, accurate, and incredibly stable. I use the Home Assistant integration to ultimately tie everything together, but as someone who already had WiFi, Z-Wave, and Zigbee in my mix, I was hesitant to add another proprietary vendor to the mix, but outdoor range requirements could only be met by YoLink.

I've had so many issues with yolink that I've been phasing it out. I use it to control my grow shack, humidity, ventilation, ect. From time to time I look and it didn't trigger an event, or all the devices need to be reset. It's just not trustworthy. If you're using this for protecting anything of value, you really should find an alternative. I'm done with yolink

App it's lacking basic features like Sunrise and Sunset. 'Too basic, only allowing one "when" condition. I've got 300+ into the YoLink Devices as, from what understand, they are the first to the market with the LoRa tech for home automation. It's not the device cost I'm sweating, its the wiring, junction boxes, time and integration costs I have into the system. Either they make this app much better or I'm jumping ship when something else with better programmability comes along.

The app is great, if not a bit murky. However, the customer service/tech support is beyond compare. I received a solution to my "problem" within an hour, on a SUNDAY afternoon! For those having issues, contact them, they can almost certainly help. I'm 100% satisfied. FYI, I use the temperature-humidity sensor and leak sensors.

I like the concept behind the product but the execution is not up to par. The only options they have in the app are limited to sending emails text or sms. So if you, like me, silence alerts overnight so you can sleep, you won't hear the text messages come through. If they had an alarm that can override a DND built into the app to alert you at all hours then it would be so much more valuable. Interested to see if the batteries actually last 5 years.

Decent platform, room for improvement. The devices themselves are fantastic, I haven't had a single issue at all. However, I have automation set up to sound my siren immediately when a door sensor is opened for when I'm sleeping. It's difficult to easily enable or disable this automation so my alarm doesn't sound when I go to leave. Having a widget to enable or disable automations would be really helpful.

Works very well but still missing some features. I'm very happy with the 20+ yolink sensors I use. The app and automation work every time. I would like the ability for a secondary thermometer to turn on the house fan controlled by the thermostat. The history of the thermostat is good but the timeline throughout the day is very hard to read; some ui taking would be good there. I'd also like to see a web portal but that's really low priority.

I love this app and the temperature/humidity devices it interfaces with. The wireless reception is excellent and after using them for the better part of a year now, we've found the devices to be accurate and reliable. My only complaint would be the color scheme of the app and the tiny text. Some better themes and larger type face would make the app better for older, sight challenged users. Other than that, we have no complaints. Great job on this product!!

I use the temperature / humidity sensors, including 3 of the newer X3 model. The app constantly has problems connecting on demand. I get a pop up that says "Error Cannot Connect to..." Eventually it will connect, but it never does on first, second, or third try. All firmware for all hardware is up to date with the newest. I've tested with the sensors within a few inches to over a hundred feet from base with no change in this error issue. I've had Yolink and this issie for more than 2 years.

I like the hardware. Just wish the software was better, little confusing at first but now I understand it better. Yolink, we need wall dimming switches, not just the on/off versions. Also for your alarm system, I would like to give a verbal announcement when the system is triggered, & be able to delay the horn to kick in. Right now it's set up for the horn & announcement come on at the same time & you can't hear the announcement. I want to say that the First Security has been called, horn sound

Recording are great, audio is great, night vision is great, so long as you can actually view the videos in the app. Session timeout can be reached after only watching three videos and then you're not allowed to watch the videos from that camera anymore for a variable amount of time(sometimes 30 min to an hour). If you try to contact customer support from the app that sends you to shop on their website. Frustrating to say the least.

Good alarm but it has some stuff that can be improved. Pros: No subscription, works good, good technology, lots of different alarm products. Cons: App is complicated, occasionally a sensor goes offline. The main con is the app is very complicated. It is very difficult to turn the alarm on/off. Setting up different alarm settings is very complicated and difficult. It would be better to simplify the app to have 3 main setting (Off, Home, Away). When you do have everything set up, it works

I get a lot of "can't connect errors" unless I kill the app after every use. They haven't fixed a daylight savings time bug I reported over two years ago. I wish the hardware using this supported other software. It could be tolerable if the interface wasn't also non-standard garbage. 20+ years in IT in multiple roles and this is one of the worst applications I've ever used.

Awful app - I get constant "can't connect" error messages when, for example, trying to silence the siren speaker after nuisance alarm, even with all devices, including the smartphone, are connected to same wireless network on Xfinity XB8 gateway/modem. I feel sorry that I wasted money on this platform from this company and I hope other people won't make my mistake.
