Reviews for YouMail: Block Spam on Android

Love this app! It's free and it doesn't just block scam calls but makes them think your number is out of service so they stop calling. I have it set to block non contacts. If I get a call, I think is important that's not in my contacts, I can always add it and call them back or lower the setting. I was getting calls everyday from different numbers and if they can't leave a message, then must not be important. With this app I haven't had any scam calls for the last week.

Good Free version, but not good enough for paid premium version. It doesn't work through automobile Bluetooth, so you have to turn off your phone's Bluetooth mode in order to hear your messages. Why would you pay money to go through that exercise every time you're in the car? If that problem was fixed, I would definitely step up to the premium version.

What's going on, there are calls getting through that are not in my contact list. The reason i chose this app was to keep these telemarketers and spammers from annoying me with this craziness. It worked very well for quite some time, but now i might as well not have it. Is this your way of forcing users to BUY the upgrade and if so, that won't be happening.

There should be more free features on the app. It lost the forwarding another account and can only do 20 visiual text on voice mails a month. I have a fixed budget and don't have extra cash to spend. I like the app and it has helped with the annoying phone calls. But from time to time the phone calls get through. The Voicemail box is saying from the messges, it is full and you are price and money gouging for people to buy more memory for the Voicemail.

I have been using this app for years. As of today they removed the only feature that I used this app for. You can no longer block calls outside of your contact list without paying for premium. I'm happy to pay for apps but a monthly fee for basic phone functionality isn't something I'm willing to do. I recommend others not encourage this either. I'll be uninstalling and finding an alternative. UPDATE - You confirm exactly what I just said, but preface it with "no".

Excellent free (basic) service! As a customer for several years now I'm pretty disappointed that it's been almost a year since customer support told me they were going to fix the lack of a notification for for Pixel / Android phones. They said they were aware of it, but it's still not fixed. UPDATE NOV 2023: I have a notification badge! I hope it's back for good!

I left for a while to try other blockers and none of them compare. Most of them do less and charge you for it, some of them charge crazy high amounts just to do what you thought they already did. This is the first one to fully deliver what it claims it offers and not have hidden fees. Sure, it isn't perfect and doesn't get 100% of the crazy amount of spam calls my phone gets, but I don't think I'll ever go back.

Loving this app!! I only have the free version, and it's already kept spam voicemail out of my inbox!! I also love that I can leave a personalized greeting specifically for a certain person in addition to my regular voicemail message!! Also, it transcribes your voicemail so I can just read it instead of having to try and listen to it when I'm in a noisy room, or around a bunch of people!

Using free version to try and decide whether I want to get the premium version. Blocking works pretty well. A couple of issues. 1st, the incoming messages are not dated. Odd. 2nd, the blue phone handset icon on message page overlaps the Incoming message phone number, making it difficult to read. If the last digit is a 6, 9, or 0, you basically have to guess. UPDATE: After giving YouMail free version a lengthy trial, I have upgraded to the paid version and pleased.

I've had the free version for quite some time and loved it.... until now. Had an issue I needed help with, but the only support you can get with the free version is from a bot that could not answer my question. That's pretty sad. Not even an option to email, let alone call. So, if you are looking for a voicemail app that doesn't require you to pay for help when you need it, look elsewhere. Youmail is only interested in your money. Time to find a new app or go back to my carrier's voicemail.
