Reviews for Yousician: Learn & Play Guitar

So far I like the app, I find that it is really useful as someone who used to play guitar alot and is trying to get back into it. I notice occasionally it doesn't properly detect my chords even if I'm playing it right but this is thankfully rare. I also don't like that alot of the early songs you learn are the "simplified" version which doesn't sound like the song at all, I say go all the way or nothing. Worst part is they force you into a yearly subscription with no option to get out.

It seems like a great learning app. However, the song getting interrupted 30 seconds in is REALLY annoying but I guess that's how they get you to pay $139.99 a year to get rid of it! Would be MUCH nicer to be able to pay monthly. I'm waaaay too poor to pay that at once! Also, maybe it's just my mic, but sometimes I'll pluck the string it wants me to, and it'll still mark that I missed it. Also, kind of annoying.

I love this so much! it's a great thing to start learning guitar with. I love that you can go at your own pace, and even if you do go slow, you see your progress, and how you evolve. my only complaint, would be that until you get the premium subscription, your progress suddenly stops, and you can't play any of the extra random free songs, because they cover content that you haven't learned. other than that, amazing!

It seems like it would be a great app if they didn't set the price so high. The premium is just not worth the cost at all, especially if you can't afford the annual cost all at once. The free version has practically nothing you can do in it And it requires pitch exercises before even doing one single warm up for the singing portion, which is insane. It also REQUIRES an annual subscription to get the free trial at all, so cancel one day late and pony up $140. majorly predatory

Please Please try to team up with original artists. This app is beyond amazing, however, the vocals are crippling the desire to play, on more than half of the songs. I would love full versions and melodies to more songs too, but otherwise I have nothing else negative whatsoever to say. you guys are really rocking it, and thanks to this app so am I. I have a theory on how you could make an incredible amount of subscribers too

Just started a few days ago. Not bad, love how it asks for my preferred music genre and adapts accordingly. Sadly, doesn't always seem to pick up when I play the notes. Have to pick at the strings harder than I'd like, just for the app to acknowledge I'm playing them. And even then, sometimes it thinks I'm not getting the timing right.

This app is fantastic when it works! But, most of the time, it doesn't!30% human error, 70% Yelling ...revised: I found the perfect setting to correct this problem. connect headset prior to booting app. Once opened, turn to half volume and place one earpiece in front of your device and keep the other in/on your ear. I prefer open air Bluetooth set so I can listen to surroundings with both ears as well as the device. open air headsets rest on the outside of your ears instead of having buds in.

Used to love this app but it glitches so hard now it's impossible to use. I've updated and restarted my phone- still randomly pauses out of nowhere multiple times during one song. I know there's a setting that has it pause on wrong notes; it's not that. It will happen even if I'm playing perfectly. I've given it time, it's been many months now. Real sad about it.

I don't trust Youscian. I've been teaching myself to play guitar using the app and the last couple of days when I practice, I keep being told im too early, too late, or missed a note all together which was very confusing bc it'll mark the note as red when I know im correct. I play 2 instruments proficiently, so my timing is pretty good. Today, I let the song run & it said I hit notes correctly even tho I wasn't playing. Also, the tuner is poor quality and often wrong. you can hear it

It's great. It's really helpful if you're a beginner, though maybe it'd just be my phone, but it can't pick up my guitar sometimes. It gets annoying but doesn't happen frequently. Edit: I thought I could at least get by lesson 2 without paying, but alas, I'm stuck with the basics, daily sessions, and songs I have played before.
