So here's my honest take on the ZoomOn Home Security Camera app. I've tested a bunch of home security apps and this one's pretty solid overall. The setup is easy and it works reliably most of the time. Video quality is good enough to see what's going on, and the motion alerts are a nice bonus feature. That said, the app can be a little glitchy at times and the alerts don't always trigger when they should. And after a while, the novelty of using an old phone as a security camera kind of wears off. But if you're looking for a simple, free way to keep an eye on your home, ZoomOn is definitely worth a look.

Description

Been using the ZoomOn Home Security Camera app for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you turn old phones into home security cameras. Pretty solid if you’re looking to keep an eye on your place when you’re not around.

Here’s how it works: you install the app on two devices, pair them up, and then place one camera somewhere in your home. The other device becomes the monitor so you can check the feed whenever you want. And there’s also some basic motion detection and alerts, which is pretty cool. And the video quality is decent – not the best but it gets the job done.

Look, if you’ve got an old phone sitting around and want a simple way to keep tabs on your place, ZoomOn is worth checking out. It’s not perfect – the app can be a bit buggy sometimes and the motion alerts aren’t the most reliable. But overall it’s a pretty handy little security system, especially for the price (it’s free to use).
