Please give us a way to report unrelated and irrelevant referrals. I keep getting alerts for apartments in champaign IL even I am looking in the western suburbs of Chicago or Rockford IL. No where near each other and I have no way of turning them off. I'll just delete the app if this keeps up. Also I keep getting alerts for places that don't accept pets when all my searches request pet-friendly listings.
Reviews for Zumper - Apartment Finder
← Back to Zumper - Apartment FinderBe very careful and vigilant if you choose to use this app to find an apartment/home. There are lots of scams listings (I can only speak for the listings I've seen for California) that Zumper doesn't seem to be doing anything about. I'm not sure if the screening process for posting a listing is lacking, or if it's something else. Unfortunately, using Zumper has been a frustrating experience for me- since a lot of listings are not real. Stay safe out here y'all.
i used a few sites, same message, pic s and pricing. zumper generated more leads, and the tenant!
There is no middle ground with their notifications. I had notifications turned off. I turned them back on to see if I'd missed anything. Without exaggeration, I received 6 notifications within 30 minutes. I uninstalled the app immediately. ENOUGH! There is also no way to stop receiving notifications that are of interest. It needs something like a "Don't show me this listing again" option.
Either I am a complete derp and have no idea how to use this app or it doesn't offer some filters that I would like it to have (like an option to Select whether or not I have any pets and how far from my selected city I would like to search) as well as the fact that I am being shown listings for rentals that are out of my price range. Why even ask for a price range if my results keep including $hit I can't afford?? Only had the app for 5 minutes and I'm ready to delete it!
I dislike Zumper after a few months of use. For one thing they barrage you with emails that are completely irrelevant to the search's you do. I counted 15 of them one day. Next issue is that there's no way to actually look up Zumper ID's that you find on other sites. There's also this fun feature where it automatically sent a bunch of messages to "similar" properties. In my case we're looking for a pet friendly house. It sent 7 messages to non pet friendly apartments for me. Overall, pretty bad.
This is the best app of it's kind I've found. Most issues with it come from the posters not correctly setting up the filters for their listings (Ex. Not flagging their pet friendly building as pet friendly), which is a bit annoying but no fault of the developers. Easy to set up and save filters, favourites, and create alerts. Helpful average pricing over time charts are a plus.
I use it a lot when comparing potential apartments. Love the 'Save search/ filter' option. Only issue is that I get push notifications for places that don't fit my filters (pet friendly). I've been getting places that look great & would fit the budget only to find out that it is not pet friendly. I've checked all my saved searches & they all have 'Pet Friendly' as a filter. I also get updates on these same apartments. Maybe a user function to put selected postings on a 'no- notification' list?
This is a scam in Canada. It doesn't allow actual landlords to list anything, and the company just scrapes and steals listings from other services. There's also NO support. They'll tell you to email support and its literally just a template response regardless of the issue; nobody is reading them.
Inventory is really limited and using even one basic filter ends up filtering out 99% of the listings. Prices are way too high for what the hosts are offering. This app just doesn't measure up to Airbnb or PadSplit. Uninstalling. Won't be back.
I'm looking for a home to rent. I specified "houses" only. Its listing every apartment building. There is no where in the app that asks me about pets. I don't have time to go through 1000 apartments that im not gonna rent, let alone every rental to check if they're animal friendly
Just like the rest. If you've used one you've used them all. While it has plenty of listings, it's just full of bait and switch and poorly categorized listings. Seems property managers have figured out to list their properties under every category so no matter what you search all you see is apartments with fake prices. might as well just use Craigslist
The app is designed to list rental properties. My account was deactivated saying " I didn't abide by the terms and conditions." It's a property listing app. I was listing properties for rent and didn't do anything against terms and conditions. I was doing what the app is designed for and my account should be reactived. I'm not able to sign in, the app says "The data you've entered is not correct, please check the information and try again."
It's a sham. I've looked once, rent of a place for a fairly cheap price. Went over to the place for a open viewing, turns out their was a person already living there! I messaged the person that supposedly that was offering the place to be rented, and stated it was already rented. I literally contacted him no less than 3 days. Another when in recent, a cheap rental price, paid deposit and first rent, but haven't gotten the keys and papers for it in over a week or so, no return calls. Lawyering up.
Very reliable, easy to navigate. Only issue I had was finding emails back. Wish you could have the option of getting an email back or text message to your phone letting you know the details or getting more information about the home or apartment you are looking for. Or someone like me who is not tech savvy and doesn't really know how to navigate a phone well getting into or finding emails is hard. Getting text messages just would be so much easier or maybe even a call. But Over all, its great!
When you are searching on the map it takes you to the listing when you click on it. Why not be like the others and have property info pop up without taking you to another page? It's super lagy too and keeps crashing. Also searching with the house filter on was still pulling up a bunch of apartments. Fix those issues and it will be a good app.
Of the several apps I used to apartment-hunt, this one was the most useful. Especially good was that it would email me when another unit was open in a building I had saved as a favourite. Lots of notifications but when you're looking seriously, this isn't a bad thing. Note that NONE of the landlords or agents listing used Zumpers tools (documentation etc) but I still found this a useful app. The only one comparable is HotPads.
I do find it confusing and not good to set up notifications for areas but that's okay. I'd say a strong 4 stars at least due to that but with current listings you can ask for notifications of similar listings. That makes it 5 to me, making up for the confusion easily and because it's easier than many others I've tried. Thanks for keeping the information simple and forward!
At first I thought it was going to have a bunch of super expensive apartments with all kinds of ridiculous, unattainable requirements to even be considered. But THIS APP ISN'T LIKE THAT!!! It actually has listings that the average person can easily afford. I even applied to a couple places my first time using it! Great app, easy to navigate and understand. Very useful!! Thank you!
The app seemed great. The search works way better. I was lead me to believe that it was a one stop shopping experience. I just had to find a home, check it out, pay the $30 fee, and apply. And if I applied for more than one, I was covered. Nope. The first place I looked at redirected me to their website where I had to pay another fee. Same with the second. Not one that I looked at uses the Zumper app documents. I wasted $90 and I am a disabled veteran on a limited income. What a rip off.
