Reviews for Baba Is You

This is the greatest puzzle game ever made. There are hundreds of clever tricks you work out as you go through the levels. Each new level has an interesting twist or idea on a mechanic. There is nothing that ever feels hidden or unfair, because the rules are always right there in front of you.

Baba Is You is in my honest opinion one of the best indie puzzle games ever made. With the unique mechanic of bending the rules, everything is possible! If you can, I would recommend you to purchase this game on PC as they have user-made levels with even more unique twists on rules and gameplay; the mobile version unfortunately does not support them. This is 100% a purchase worth making if you like mind bending puzzles and thinking outside the box. Baba Is Love. Baba Is Life. Baba Is You.

One of the most brilliant and inventive puzzle games made in years! A great port that is intuitively controlled. HOWEVER, There are two interface issues 1 - The placement of the undo and restart buttons feels off. I associate the ↩ arrow icon with "undo". And the ⏪ rewind button with "restart". 2 - When playing with two hands, the left thumb more easily reaches the middle icon which resets the entire level, which is frustrating when you only want to go one step back. Otherwise, INCREDIBLE!

The smartest game I've seen so far, works surprisingly well on a mobile device. Forget thinking outside the box, this game requires thinking in, on, under, with the box, and even turning the box into a door and yourself into a key to win the level (literally). Sometimes Baba Is You, sometimes Nothing Is You, you make and break the rules of the game in the most mind blowing way. If you think you're smart, do yourself a favor and buy this game.

Best puzzle game I have ever played. Every puzzle has a unique solution. There are enough puzzles that when i get stumped on one, i can save it for later and come back when i understand the mechanics better.

It's a fantastic game, but the mobile version desperately needs more high contrast options since you are likely to play it outdoors. The existing high contrast option makes zero difference for this purpose. Good luck finding the inactive "ROBOT" or "STOP" tiles against the black background when playing in broad daylight. Edit: nevermind, I just remembered the existence of android's built-in "invert colours" feature which completely solves the problem.

Fantastic game. No ads, no in-app purchases. The controls are great the puzzles are fantastic. If all mobile games were like this, phone games would have a much better reputation Also, one review said that the rules weren't consistent but they are, I think they might have misunderstood. I haven't ran into any issue yet and I played all day

This is by far one of the best puzzle games I've ever played. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the game will freeze on my phone. I am able to force close and reopen and it works again. It is aggravating and always occurs mid-level. Wondering if I should have bought this on a different platform (PC/Nintendo switch).

You'll see some reviewers saying that Baba is the greatest puzzle game on any device ever, and that they've already sunk hundreds of hours into the PC version. There's a reason for that: it really is that good. It's a game where "ok, just one more level" is never just one more level. The game is rarely frustrating: there's no split second timing needed; there's an easy undo function; and there's always more than one level you can attempt or re-attempt. Buy it.

This is hands-down the most innovative puzzle game I've ever played, with every level being fun and surprsing even after dozens of hours. Played it a ton on other platforms, and bought the android version almost immediately after it came out. The android port is amazing - if I had not played the game before on PC, I could have sworn that this is a game made specifically for mobile. 6/5. Just a warning: This game gets hard. Really, really hard.

Holy cow this game is great. Baba is you is unlike any other game I've played. It starts off easy, teaching you the mechanics, and then quickly gets challenging. It is so rewarding to finally get the eureka moment and solve one of these puzzles that it makes the frustration that you felt just moments before worthwhile. It's also a steal at this price.

EDIT: Just learned that there's no way to back up your save easily, so I'm knocking this review down a star. Normally I'm quite pleased with Android indie ports being so easy to transfer save data, but not here. Now, if something happens to my phone, my save is just gone. That kind of hurts, given this game isn't exactly easily replayable if you forget the solutions. Please dev, can we get some Google Play backup integration?? Original review is below. Excellent mobile port! Fluid controls. This game is now extra dangerous because I can sneak it in at work. If you haven't played it before, get ready for your mind to be smashed into tiny little pieces, and then those pieces get smashed into tinier little pieces.

Easily one of the best puzzle games ever made, now on mobile! If you like puzzle games this is a must play. The one thing that's missing is a more convenient way to "wait;" there's 2 instant ways to undo (button and double press) but no instant wait. It's not a big issue but some levels require you to move 1 turn, wait 1 turn, etc. and it's easy to wait too many turns since you have to wait a half-second for the command to start, then it does "wait" turns quickly. Still, great game; a must play!

Easily one of the best puzzle games, possibly ever made. It has a really nice way of teaching you the mechanics of the game, has a good mix of easy and extremely challenging levels, anx has an enormous amount of levels. I would rate this 5 star if save files were accessible and able to be backed up and transferred to another device. But at the moment you need to have a rooted phone to access save files. Losing a save file that you spend 100+ hours on is terrible.

Great game, very challenging and captivating, and I like that now I can play it anywhere. Removing three stars because 1. some of the tiles are very hard to see, even in "high contrast" mode, and, more importantly, 2. It is impossible to backup game progress data without rooting the phone, causing total loss of progress when changing phones. I'm about to lose 152 solved levels on which I spent quite a bit of time. Developer doesn't seem to care. Very annoying.

This is a game that you know the game developer put a lot of heart and thought into. It combines a lot of clever elements into a single puzzle experience, and does it in such a creative way, it will both frustrate you, but also make you smile when you figure the puzzles out. Best part... almost every puzzle has multiple ways to solve it, and in many ways, encourages you to push the limits. If a sequel ever gets made, I'm gladly buying it. I just hope it comes with a level maker.

I love puzzle games. Raced through Portal. Played the Room games multiple times. This game is for a different type of person. If you find that you challenge yourself in stressful ways, this is your game. There's a ton of potential, but the puzzles don't build in a well paced way. They introduce a mechanic just enough to have you looking forward to puzzles playing with it, then they move on to something else. It felt rushed with no real pay off. Also, the difficulty varied oddly.

Each area has around 10 puzzles and you're able to "pass" the area by completing around half of them. This is very helpful since a lot of the puzzles appear impossible at first glance. Each area has a theme/rule/mechanic that is introduced and elaborated upon as you progress so when you get stuck you can learn by solving an adjacent level. The game has good music, good controls, and good puzzles using a variety of different mechanics.

This is truly a unique game. Very simple rules, no timer, just an objective and a "toolbox" of bendable rules to reach it. It's almost like a programming language in that sense... The game has a certain "syntax" for rule bending and that makes it intellectually stimulating, unlike endless matching or puzzle games with no clear objective other than to guess what the dev was thinking. Also, few if any ads. I am hard person to please, and I love this game. I'm hooked on it! 😊😎

reduced my score because I bought a new phone and I can't transfer the save love this game! It's just the right level of puzzle difficulty that you have to struggle a bit and then you have that moment and that dopamine hit because you figured it out. I haven't run into any bugs or annoying ads. This is everything a game should be. I'm always amazed at the brilliance of puzzle game developers when they create something like this.
