Somehow, Backyard Baseball 2001 has returned; resurrected from the golden days of childhood and delivered unto the Play Store like a gift from the digital heavens. To the creators: thank you for reviving this sacred gem. You’ve restored the glory of Pablo Sánchez, the chaos of backyard commentary, and the pure joy of pixelated home runs. No ads, no gimmicks; just the game we grew up with. We are the backyard. Long live the legend.

I loved playing this game on PC and was stoked to play this on mobile. unfortunately, I can't play this game. I can't swing the bat once the pitch is made. I don't know I'm doing something wrong, but there are no on screen buttons or options for it. what a shame.

Plays just like the original on the PC. Sammy Sosa, Pablo Sanchez, Derek Jeter, Pete Wheeler, Randy Johnson, and many others at your disposal to hit some dingers and throw heaters. Doesn't need data to play. Best of all, if you get out and you want a do over, you can quickly quit the game via force exit and reboot and it takes you to the previous pitch. Controls are very responsive and feels great. Steele Stadium is the best with the pool. 5 stars.

Amazing baseball game. The Hilarious Commentary of Vinnie and player's dialogues make it feel alive. I haven't played this game in my childhood and it was the first time I played it. Found amazing. The only thing remaining is Online Play. After that, I can say this is a Perfect baseball game and will change my rating to 5 stars.

Fun game, but lately I keep getting a scumerror message after a playoff game that shuts down the app and forces me to replay the final out over and over again.

Overall it's almost identical to the original game. It's been bring back all the memories of my childhood. The biggest struggle is the constant crashes of the app. It's almost to the point of it being unplayable.

I can't play the game without it crashing anymore. I get scumerror out of array pointers. bases are loaded and it happens when I get walked or hit it and the fielder grabs the ball.

I love the game, brings back my old childhood memories of playing this game. For the most part, everything is the exact same as the original, minus the 2 or 3 big league players that aren't available anymore. However, I only give it 4 stars because it's supposed to be 2001, but the game has the Cleveland Guardians, not the Indians. It was the Indians in 2001.

I made it to the playoffs when I got a scumm error, kicking me out whenever i try to play the save file. Now my Crazy Hornets may never make it to the championship game. Edit: they were quick to come up with a solution to this problem. The game is as great as ever now

True to the original in its current form. Would be a cool addition if there was an online mode where you could play seasons with a group of friends. Looking forward to what comes next from Mega Cat Studios!

Amazing, meets almost every expectation, the improvements from '97 are very noticeable; I can't wait for the release of more Backyard Sports games. It's so nostalgic; I've been glued to these games since they re-released on android!

a very fun game. it's very fun to get in to a to a season and play with both the regular cast and the mlb stars. the only issue I have is that some of the buttons are a little too small making it hard to pick characters and navigate the menus.

game crashes sometimes, corrupting the current game you've been playing as well, so it reverts back to the last finished game. pretty annoying. I average about 1 crash per game I would say.

Loving the nostalgia. This was a HUGE part of my childhood. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the lack of controller support. I installed this on an android device that has an integrated controller. I assume this is due to the lack of source code. Still worth it

game is fun like the old computer game back in the day. but the scumerror message after second playoff game is annoying. The error closes the app and the game reverts back to prior to playing the last game. After all the hours getting to that point to end in an error that should have been caught in beta testing prior to luanch.

This is the best baseball game ever. Haha scratches the old itch nicely. So glad to have a mobile version now. However, sometimes it gives a SCUMMERROR message and shuts down, and I have to restart. A friend verified that it happens on their phone too. Also, some of the settings keep my selection between play sessions, but the commentary setting does not stay turned off. I would love to get this fixed so I don't have to change it every game.

phenomenal that I get to play this on my phone. wish they could of added controller inputs on screen since they have big open spaces on the side. it's a little weird to tap where to pitch and bat when you can't see where you are tapping but at least you get to play it.

This is a great game, even better than the original Backyard Baseball. However, I'm suddenly having a problem while playing Season mode. In the fifth inning of my third season game, it won't stop crashing and now I can't even get into Season mode without a crash occuring. I hope this can be fixed.

Great nostalgia but bugs.. im 12 games into a season and currently in the middle of a game. every time I try to continue my game it just keeps playing the game intro over and over again. other than that it's great! Just takes a bit of getting used to tapping to do everything.

Can't play anymore due to"SCUMMERROR 3,2101 (out of array pointers)" error message that causes the game to crash. Played the entire season without issue and just started the World Series when the game crashed. Phenomenal game, though! Love the mobile experience and it's so like the original. Spent hours playing. Can't wait to continue playing once the bug is fixed!
