Somehow, Backyard Baseball 2001 has returned; resurrected from the golden days of childhood and delivered unto the Play Store like a gift from the digital heavens. To the creators: thank you for reviving this sacred gem. You’ve restored the glory of Pablo Sánchez, the chaos of backyard commentary, and the pure joy of pixelated home runs. No ads, no gimmicks; just the game we grew up with. We are the backyard. Long live the legend.
Reviews for Backyard Baseball ’01
I loved playing this game on PC and was stoked to play this on mobile. unfortunately, I can't play this game. I can't swing the bat once the pitch is made. I don't know I'm doing something wrong, but there are no on screen buttons or options for it. what a shame.
Plays just like the original on the PC. Sammy Sosa, Pablo Sanchez, Derek Jeter, Pete Wheeler, Randy Johnson, and many others at your disposal to hit some dingers and throw heaters. Doesn't need data to play. Best of all, if you get out and you want a do over, you can quickly quit the game via force exit and reboot and it takes you to the previous pitch. Controls are very responsive and feels great. Steele Stadium is the best with the pool. 5 stars.
Amazing baseball game. The Hilarious Commentary of Vinnie and player's dialogues make it feel alive. I haven't played this game in my childhood and it was the first time I played it. Found amazing. The only thing remaining is Online Play. After that, I can say this is a Perfect baseball game and will change my rating to 5 stars.
Fun game, but lately I keep getting a scumerror message after a playoff game that shuts down the app and forces me to replay the final out over and over again.
Overall it's almost identical to the original game. It's been bring back all the memories of my childhood. The biggest struggle is the constant crashes of the app. It's almost to the point of it being unplayable.
I can't play the game without it crashing anymore. I get scumerror out of array pointers. bases are loaded and it happens when I get walked or hit it and the fielder grabs the ball.
I love the game, brings back my old childhood memories of playing this game. For the most part, everything is the exact same as the original, minus the 2 or 3 big league players that aren't available anymore. However, I only give it 4 stars because it's supposed to be 2001, but the game has the Cleveland Guardians, not the Indians. It was the Indians in 2001.
I made it to the playoffs when I got a scumm error, kicking me out whenever i try to play the save file. Now my Crazy Hornets may never make it to the championship game. Edit: they were quick to come up with a solution to this problem. The game is as great as ever now
True to the original in its current form. Would be a cool addition if there was an online mode where you could play seasons with a group of friends. Looking forward to what comes next from Mega Cat Studios!
