Reviews for BJA: Card Counting Trainer Pro

Really good to get practice in for both drills of deviations, perfect basic strategy, and for speed counting. However for speed counting, dont know if its just for mine but it split my 2's as normal but then I got another 2 and it didnt split into 2 hands. I dont know if thats a bug or a part of the app to not split up to 4 times during the speed count drill

I am pretty sure the speed counter trainer is not working correctly. Set to 1 hand per count and with 6 cards the count should have been -1 and instead was told it was -6. Pretty basic but after nonsense answers I tested it for a single hand and it's wrong half the time. Cards were 4, 10, 9 and 6, J, K... I am a cheap hire if you need it fixed, I mean logic should be the easiest part, assuming Android studio was used. $5 for a broken app is going to upset people. This is not good for your brand

Over all REALLY good app for training. Only reason its 4/5 is because the max chip size is 500. When you get to the point where you have a few 100,000 and want to start betting more to practice higher games. You have to click 500 Over and over and over again. On top on clearing bet. Need more chip options or add a way to just type out your bet amount. Also when useing deviations, it tells you the count you have when correcting. Wish it would say " deviate at 3+" or somthing. But app is 8/10

Algorithm really does not appear to be random, basic strategy doesn't work 70 percent of the time, even when observing the count it does the opposite. I'm beginning to think there is no way for any company to actually simulate bja. Follow the trainers advice and you will be losing most of the hands, I only go positive when I play more risky and use my own judgement.

It's uncanny that the algorithm is so skewed that the dealer can throw to the house, 21's in a multiple of combinations. In the real world, cards are random. I also noted that the app warns you not to do different moves when you should .(Example: doubling down) I ignored the advice and won more. PRO TIP....Save yourself some money and practice with real cards. Your experience will be much more real and productive.

Great for counting without a deck (or 8) handy. Few things I wish were implemented: 1) adjust bankroll to what ever size you desire. 2) saved session for drilling. for example, I put my phone down for an hour or so I want to come back to that drill I was already on. 3) separate drill section for only deviation practice. Otherwise nearly perfect in my opinion!

Update: Thanks for the response, exactly what I was looking for! Original: overall a good app that'll help you with counting and basic strategy. UI is great. Would recommend adding a mode to practice with specific card types like "Hard Totals", "Soft Totals", and "Pairs". I'm still learning basic strategy and those modes would help me focus on parts of the chart I'm still lacking skill on.

I love the app. And the only reason I'm giving it a four star rating is because I think there's always room for improvement with anything. Only recommendation I have so far is it would be awesome if when your count dropped to a -2TC if you have the option to wong out. Let's say it let you deal hands to a "ghost" until you get back up to a -1 TC or a positive TC. Overall great apps. Colin and the team did an excellent job. And I can't wait to get a membership with the academy. Has helped a ton!

great for learning basic strategy and card counting, and it is definitely worth the 5-6 bucks on the app store if you want to learn how to beat the casino @ blackjack. The card counting trainer is efficient and is easy to use, especially if you have only a few minutes to practice. The simulated blackjack games are also quite fun and educational as the simulator will tell you if a move you made is wrong based on basic strategy or based on the current count. It's better than most other BJ apps

This app's no better than most free practice apps. I suspect shenanigans with the betting feature; I was losing bank fast on high positive TCs & then started winning immediately with ridiculously high bets on walk-away negative TCs. I like the app's simplicity, though, & I trust the $5 will be worth future updates. I think the betting is rigged, but the app is good for practicing counting and basic strategy at the same time. Tip: hide the count & see how you did after the shoe. I was way off!
