Description
Been playing CHRONO TRIGGER (Upgrade Ver.) for a couple months now. It’s basically a classic RPG where you travel through different eras of time to save the planet. Pretty solid stuff if you’re into retro-style JRPGs.
Here’s what you do: there’s a big story to follow as you jump between the present, middle ages, future, and more. And you can build up your party, learn new abilities, and take on tough bosses. It’s got some great pixel art graphics and the music is top-notch too. Took me a while to figure out all the systems but it’s not too complicated.
Look, if you’re a fan of old-school RPGs, you’ll probably really enjoy this. It’s not perfect – the pacing can feel a bit slow at times – but overall it’s a solid adventure that’ll keep you hooked. Worth checking out for any JRPG lover.
Editor Opinion
So here's my take on CHRONO TRIGGER (Upgrade Ver.). I've tested a bunch of retro-style RPGs and this one is definitely one of the better ones. The story and characters are really engaging, and the time-traveling gimmick adds a cool twist. And the visuals and soundtrack also hold up super well. That said, the difficulty can spike at times and the progression feels a bit grindy, especially late game. But if you're a fan of classic JRPGs, I'd say this is a must-play. Tons of content and replayability for a reasonable price.
