Description

Been playing Crying Suns for a couple months now. It’s basically a tactical rogue-like game where you explore a fallen space empire. You take control of a fleet and have to navigate through a procedurally-generated universe, fighting battles and uncovering the story.

There’s a ton of strategic depth here – you’ve got ship-to-ship combat, squadron management, tech trees to research, and more. And it’s got a really cool sci-fi vibe inspired by Dune and Foundation. The story is pretty engaging too, with over 300 possible events to discover.

Look, if you’re into strategy games with a dark, moody atmosphere, you’ll probably dig Crying Suns. It’s not perfect – the progression can feel a bit grindy at higher levels – but overall it does a solid job of scratching that space strategy itch. Worth checking out for sure.

Editor Opinion

So here's my take on Crying Suns. I've tested a bunch of strategy games on mobile and this one's up there as one of the better ones. The tactical combat is really satisfying, with a good amount of depth without being overly complex. And the visuals and audio also do a great job of pulling you into the sci-fi universe.

On the downside, the difficulty ramps up quite a bit later on, and upgrades/progression can start to feel like a grind. The story is interesting but can get a little repetitive after multiple playthroughs. But overall, if you're a fan of the genre, this is a pretty solid option that's worth your time.

Excellent! It has the rougelike feeling from FTL, but it also addresses my main issue with FTL, namely a lack of control and agency in the rqnrom things that happen....

It pains me to say this, but the tutorial could be a little more thorough given the depth of this game. Still, after you lose a few times - to...
