My favorite of any rougue-like i've played. It has plenty of content, action, and meta-progression. Also, it has difficulties that can fit almost any person. One thing I would like is a co-op mode so I can play this with a friend. It would be hard to do because of the game's format, but would add even more fun
Reviews for Dead Cells
Had this game a few weeks and just forgot to rate it. Honestly, good game. It usually runs slow on my phone but I absolutely LOVE playing it. I prefer playing it on ps though, it runs a lot smoother. Love all of the game references. Kinda wished there was local co-op, it doesn't take away from the experience, I think it would be cool though. Update: got a new phone, works just as good as on console
I have a trash samsung phone that's more than 7 years old and has been through three people and this game runs amazingly. Really fun highly recommend, just buy it. You can probably sink over 100 hours in this game and progression feels just hard enough to be rewarding but also easy enough to feel fair. The game picks up where you left off so perfect for short bursts of time for those who need a game to play between breaks. This is the only game I've ever rated. let that speak for itself.
It's just so dang good - the port, the controls, the game itself... When we look back at the history of gaming, this will be a key moment in the death of "mobile" game dev and the advent of true cross platform consistency. Dead Cells competes with AAA games on all platforms, and sets the bar for others. This is an artifact of gaming history, and they'll put it in the museums right alongside Mario and Solid Snake, mark my words.
This is absolutely one of my favorite games to play on mobile. I play on a backbone controller and I recommend using a controller of some sort. The game runs amazing on my phone (2023 Moto Stylus 5G) which is a relatively cheap phone. The movement is so amazing. It's like I have no limitations on where I can move or how fast attacking to dodging can be. I don't think I can properly say how good it feels. So many different weapons and skills. The game feels endless. Just buy it. Trust me.
Dead cells is a very good roguelike, although it can sometimes be way too harsh if you are on a tight schedule. As a console game I couldn't get into it but as a mobile game I can see the appeal, it's a great time waster. If I had to change anything I would say that there should be more constant progression aside from just unlocking blueprints and cells could be boosted up a bit. But the inclusion of custom mode alleviates most of the stress, overall a fantastic game.
At first, playing this game, I just thought that it was very overrated. After 3 months of "live, die, learn and repeat," I'm proud to say that this game is probably one the hardest I played, and yes, even LoL. It's worth the money I pay for the game and DLCs. I look forward to their Castlevania soon. One notice though, if I quit the game before it can bring me to spawnpoint, the game will crash if I got in the game again and will crash 2nd time if hit "New Game" so I have to do "Continue".
This has been, by far, the best game I've played on mobile. Over the past few years, I've really started to love metriodvania titles. You can easily see the heart they put into this game. Easter eggs of Hollow Front and nods to others. It's comical, absolutely smooth(using a PS4 controller with Bluetooth), and well designed. It's worth every bit of $9, and I wouldn't have been surprised if it would have been more. If you're into the metroidvania genre, this is an absolute no brainer to get.
I absolutely love this game. If I could ask for anything, I'd ask for the ability to share progress between Steam and Android versions (and Xbox. Why not?). As it is, I have just recently decided to play the Android version again, and use Continue Mode to justify having spent the money on the game twice. It's still really fun, but I don't have the skill to beat it quickly, nor the time to play it often, and playing it natively beats streaming, even with a good connection.
Gameplay is fantastic and even better with a controller. It's a fast paced platformer with good combat. Rating isn't 5/5 because there is no way to transfer saves across devices Google play games cloud saves isn't reliable for this game, and since you need root access to view the game files, you can't download the saves manually. If you buy this game, know that it will be fun but you'll have to start over from scratch if you get a new phone
