So here's my take on DREDGE. I've tested a bunch of similar exploration/strategy games and this one's definitely one of the better ones. The core loop of fishing, upgrading your boat, and uncovering the map's secrets is really addictive. And the strategic depth is impressive without being too complicated. The graphics and performance are great too. The main downsides are the grindy upgrade system and the ads, but those are pretty common in free-to-play games. Overall, I'd say DREDGE is a must-try if you're into this genre. Scratches that itch for me.

Description

Been playing DREDGE for a couple months now. It’s basically a strategy game where you take on the role of a fisherman in a remote archipelago. The goal is to build up your boat, explore the islands, and uncover the area’s troubled past. There’s a ton of stuff to do – you can sell your catch to the locals, complete quests, and outfit your boat with better gear to venture deeper into the sea. The graphics are pretty nice and it runs smooth even on my older phone. And

The best part is the strategic depth. There’s a lot to learn and optimize, like what bait to use, how to navigate the currents, and when to time your fishing trips. But it’s not so complex that it feels overwhelming. And you can team up with friends for some epic clan battles, which is where the game really shines.

Look, if you’re into strategy and exploration games, you’ll probably enjoy DREDGE. It’s not perfect – the upgrades can take forever and the ads can get annoying if you don’t pay. But overall it’s a pretty solid experience that’s kept me hooked for a while.
