Reviews for Getting Over It

← Back to Getting Over It

First Off... You are an evil evil person for designing this😑 2nd... Got stuck playing this for like 9 hours and somehow ended back at the start after all my efforts😂stupidly entertaining I WILL DEFEAT YOU!!!🫡🤣

it's so difficult but I keep wanting to come back to it, I've been playing this game for years and definitely recommend it on computer, but honestly it's somewhat easier on mobile device

Hard game that is hard and all the reviews say is hard, is hard! It's almost as if this game is hard on purpose! 1 star since I couldn't beat it in an hour! Unbelievable! - 1 star reviewers on this game

It's a good game that's designed to be challenging. Most of the low star reviews are going to be from people who are upset that the game isn't easy. But if that's not a concept that's appealing to you, avoid this one.

The touch screen controls would be alot easier to use if I had a visual on- screen joystick (or overlay of one)

I don't know about this game man. It's not just that it's hard - I get that. I'm pretty sure over time I'm getting worse at the game. Whether that's user error, or the fact that I just tried to fine tune my position on low sensitivity and instead the hammer suddenly jerked into the wall and sent me back a ridiculous amount. 3/5 somewhat twitchy glitch controls, in a game that requires you to be 100% on the dot with where you are touching and what you are doing.

i enjoy the game a lot it encourages you throughout the game and it's honestly amazing even though I got mad at it a lot but that's because I'm more of a gamer making me get angrier easier but otherwise the man's voice is calming and I have fun even when I get mad at the game I enjoy it a lot and I recommend it even though I make it far without falling down it may not be enjoyable for all people who want to play it and have played it but once once you play it more you get better at it so try it

I couldn't really get into it as the controls are funky. I could see some players figuring it out. Yet I'm not good enough for this and falling all the way down would ruin it for me as just moving is complex. Good idea though and it will be fun once they fix the controls.

2 Major Issues 1. You cannot save your game stats in this game, if you win 100 times and uninstall the game... Your stats are gone forever. This makes me very upset, at least give us a way where we can save our stats for flex. 😑 2. The hammer is glitching while playing on the battery saver, this exploits game experience. 3 Stars, I'll give 5 if you fix these 2 issues.

The controls are simple, but hard to master. A lot of people blame them, but I don't think that's right. Walking is hard for babies, but it becomes natural once you get used to it. Turn input acceleration off, and sens all the way down, and it feels quite comfortable. My favourite part of this game is the commentary. Try to appreciate it as you climb, it's really poetic. As long as you appreciate a pure challenge, no rewards, no upgrades, just skill, this is for you. Try not to get emotional.

Dang, this game has been quite the journey. Gave up the first time I tried it and I picked it up again around 3 weeks ago. Was determined to finish it this time and I finally managed to. I love this game's design and aesthetic, and I love how such simple controls can create such dynamic situations and gameplay. Also, despite what I've seen elsewhere, I actually found the commentary to be a great addition. The controls are a bit wonky sometimes, but overall would totally recommend getting it!

This game should 4-5 stars, but people are dumb and give the game 1 star because it's a hard game, ignore all bad reviews. Getting Over It is one of the best games if you're looking for a challenge. You need skill and finesse to make any progress, and you often lose large amounts of progress because of one mistake. That being said, this is one of the most rewarding games. You learn to expect failure and to celebrate progress. It provides an amazing and frustrating experience that is unrivaled.

Works Surprisingly Well. I just started playing on PC yesterday. I saw there was an Android port *and* it was on sale, so I *immediately* bought it. The controls are actually surprisingly good, and I can play almost as easily on my phone with my finger as I can on my PC with a mouse. Hint: the whole screen works like a trackpad, with relative motion from wherever you initially place your finger. Be gentle. Be subtle. Take your time. You'll be hammering your way up that mountain like a pro soon!

The coding going into this must be just an insane amount with the physics, the controls, the graphics, the cutscenes, all of it. I originally heard of this from a YouTuber and thought,"Hmm. Why shouldn't I buy this?" I will never regret it, and thank you so much for creating this game. Also, one last thing before I go, the commentary is amazing; my mom was cracking up laughing when she heard some parts.

Extremely frustrating, and it's part of the charm of this game. One wrong move can send you right back to the start, and it'll take a lot of practise to make any progress in some sections. The controls could be better. They're alright when you're wildly swinging around, but when making more delicate movements they can be janky. Although the game is supposed to be frustrating, the janky controls are something that's not the player's fault. Graphics are alright, commentary is delightful.

It's hard. I won't blame the controls. But I will recommend others use a thumb sleeve. If you're sweaty, the responsiveness of controls is garbage. The same is true for any mobile game. Only this game punishes you much harder for it. So, yes. It's frustrating. It hurts. I nearly cried several times. The devils chimney made me wanna die only to discover it gets so much worse. So if you want to learn to control your frustration, download this now. And Devs, please port pogostuck to android next!

I like the game, and I know it's about the experience. The problem is the controls are much more difficult to manage on mobile. I've tried the Steam version of it, the controls were easier to manage. I wish the swipes don't have the same intensity like you should be able to either go slow and easy or go fast and hard, like on PC. The swings are always the same intensity on mobile so you can't really control your positioning.

Despite the difficulty, I genuinely love this game, but I can only imagine it's easier to play on a computer when I'm not getting friction burns on my finger and fighting with the restrictions of my cheap phone. Maybe some day I'll have the extra time and money to buy it on PC and see for myself. That said, the narration is amazing, the premise is great, and even if I never become skilled enough to beat the game, I still enjoy the experience.

This game is great. It's angering, but after about the 20th win, it's pretty fun. But there are 2 things to note: First, you the semsitivity is preset low so you should max it before beginning. Also, on the mobile version, bugs slowly begin to appear throughout the gameplay. This ranges from textures disappearing and turning pink, to the settings menu forcing itself open making it hard to play.

The song bird of a generation. It's deeply upsetting to see so many people complaining about how hard the game is. The narrator is anything but unreliable. The game is designed to make you throw your phone through a wall. It's up to the player to decide when. Beautiful challenges and incredible dialogue, in a time when games are designed to appease the player. Finally a game that's designed to make them work. I'd be remised if I didn't say, iridescent.
