Pleasantly surpised to come back and find this game actually functional, rather than a black screen. There's just the map issue, though. Please fix that. You can't move the cursor to the right side of the map at all. There's an invisible barrier, so I can't even close in on my own location so I can look for shops and stuff around me. If you fix that one issue, I'll throw you a 5th star.
Reviews for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
← Back to Grand Theft Auto: San AndreasGreat playing once you get everything dialed in. Took me back to when I was a kid. It has all the same glitches it had on PS2. I played for a a little over a month and the game glitched/froze. Wouldn't let me move around or do anything. Had to re-download and lost all my saved data. Very annoyed, was just about to complete the game. All in all 5 outa 5 for game play.
I'm really impressed how well this game plays and how it runs on a tablet. It does look a little different from the original PS2 version, but that's expected with any port. The only downside is the touch controls. They kind of work, but don't really give the fine control you need, especially when driving. Most missions were very difficult with only touch controls. I ended up getting a wireless controller, and it made it 100% better.
Unfortunately, I had to lower my 5 star rating down to 3 due to crashing issues. I now have lost 3 games. I get far into the game and then eventually, now 3 times, the game/app crashes after about 30 seconds upon opening the game. I don't even have to load a save for the crash to occur. I cannot play the game now and have lost my progress 3 times!!! I'm extremely angry. I contacted you guys, went through all the recommend procedures, removed every other app, etc and no avail. UPDATE THE GAME!
Awesome Game, I played it offline with no issues. However when I signed in to the Rockstar Games Social Club, the game would not load anymore, it would take me to the screen where you press resume, as soon as I'd press it, it would start loading with the progress bar getting almost all the way to the end and then the game crashes taking me back to the phone menue. I had to uninstall, then reinstall the game, lost all my progress, however it works fine as long as you don't sign in to Social Club.
Working on Android 13 now for my phone. You might have better luck now too. Great game, very very iffy port, but still playable. I haven't completed it, but I am in Las Venturas and I'm the home stretch. Do yourself a favor and select the left and right button controls for steering, and DON'T PRESS AND HOLD them. Adjust the direction with the arrows, then let go and let your vehicle go straight from that point. Every other steering option is VERY finicky.
Love this game, but I'm running into some issues playing with an Xbox 1 controller. There seems to be controller support, but it's a tad buggy. Cars veer constantly to the right when you drive, and certain controls just don't feel right, and there is no section in pause>options>redefine controls for controller controls. It only covers the touch controls. I would really love some button mapping options.
This game was my absolute favorite from childhood, and I was excited when I found a mobile port of the game. In terms of gameplay, it is. But for some reason, after I factory reset my phone due to some complications, it says that it was no longer available for my device, even though it worked before. I'm disappointed and annoyed since I spent money on this, only to not be able to play the game again. If I was given an explanation and assistance, then it would of still retained its 5 star rating.
This game is great WHEN IT WORKS! The game worked for a few good missions but has gotten to the point, I open the game play for 2-3 mins (the time it takes me to drive tk the beach) and it crashes. SO ANNOYING! Please fix this from crashing on the NOTE 9! Or give me my money back. Other then that the game play takes some getting used to, but once you do it's fairly simple. A few minor camera glitches every now and then but that's not the big issue here. I know it's a lot to run on a phone but...
This game is amazing, but seems like every other time i play it, it won't start up, and will be frozen on a black screen. It's very aggrivating. It's not even starting up at all anym, and i would love to see it fixed. It runs effortlessly on my G2, even with max quality, and line of sight. Plays just like it did on my ps2! I'll gladly change to 5 stars if the start up issues are resolved.
This game looks really great! I bought the PS2 version and played a little, but unfortunately, the disc got scratched and doesn't work that well now (disc read error). So I bought this version, and I was so impressed by the quality. I also love that some much needed features, like mission checkpoints and autosave, have been added. Plus I can now take the game with me! Thinking of purchasing another mobile port after my bluetooth controller is delivered (vice city or liberty city stories).
Looks great. Play is actually pretty good. Only been playing a day but the first bug I've encountered has been learning the boxing style at the first gym. It tells you new moves learned, but when you're done with the fight, you still have the basic moves. Another issues was the first scene with you having to get away on the bike. The wasn't a way for me to rapid press as to go faster. It just stuttered with no movement like it was going to speed up.
The best game of the PS2 on your phone! What more do you need? Granted the graphical quality and textures suffer a bit, and some seemingly insignificant audio issues with the radio stations having a sudden 2-second pause happen, but overall the game is almost 1-1 with the original console release. My only gripe is some textures are really low-quality in some areas of the map and lack of lush vegetation like there used to be in the originals.
Save file bugged. I wouldn't waste your money. I was really looking forward to really diving into this game. I got pretty far into the story. Tried logging in today. Game shut down while loading. cleared cache. still shut down. turned my phone off and on again. Still can't load file. It's a really fun game and with a controller bluetooth to it... it makes loads of a difference. But if the saved file bugs out. it don't matter how good the game is.
UI destroys this game. I wish I could get my money back. Every car continuously moves to the left like the steering is misaligned. It's already super hard to control the vehicles because of how bad the user interface is. It will jump from steering to camera when you move your thumb so suddenly you're looking at the ground. This happens walking and driving. It's a phenomenal game that I was excited to play, but the developer did such a bad job porting it to mobile that it's simply unplayable.
Man, this game is a classic. Feels so good playing CJ’s story again but now on my phone. The nostalgia really hits different, and it’s crazy how well the game holds up after all these years. Controls took a minute to get used to, but after setting them up it’s smooth and fun to play. The world is huge, the missions are still exciting, and there’s always something to do whether it’s following the story, exploring the map, or just messing around. Still one of the best games ever totally worth it.
I've beening playing this game for 2 years now, and there has never been a problem, but now everytime I do a mission, or if I complete a mission, and before I go to cjs house to save my progress I always get glitched out of the game and have to restart the whole mission. I can't even enjoy the game without glitching out of it. Please try to fix the bugs.
I read the reviews before purchase. I see people saying the game crashes. It definitely depends on your phone. Graphics are Amazing for a Port Mobile. It did crash one time. But I expect that with a mobile game. I have yet seen any real problems with the game. I'm really enjoying it and get Nostalgic playing it. It almost is to good to be true. I definitely recommend you buy and play GTA San Andreas. Controls take a second to get use to. Thank you for this game!!
One of the biggest, grandest, most ambitious games now accessible in a swipe and a finger tap. Without a controller, auto aim does heavy lifting for a lot of the game's combat. Graphics are kinda rough for any character that isn't CJ. And most environments. I dont mind too much though. Overall a big, fun, dumb world to cruise around in forever.
This is an incredible game. Not my favorite in the series but is objectively the best one. The driving is good and the soundtrack is no slouch either. I think the mobile port has messed up the radio stations as sometimes they're will be a pause for 5 seconds and some songs just completely skip over. Other than that, the game handles well on my phone. I can't speak for other users, but for me, the game is really impressive especially on my smaller device.
