Reviews for Guns of Glory: Lost Island

Developers constantly break things that aren't broken, with updates that seem to occur every 2 weeks. If you want to be competitive, you'll need to spend lots and lots of money. Thre developed only care about making you spend more and more money with every update introducing things that are more expensive, and cannot be earned over time. If you want a game that bilks you out of money, then this game is for you. Otherwise, find something else that allows equal play for all.

Over all a good game. Plenty of "side games" to do within the main game. They offer a number of packs at various reasonable prices though I think they should offer more at the $0.99 level. My main complaint is 1) instructions are minimal. Most things have to be learned via trial and error. 2) Events like KVK and UAC are supposed to be between "comparable kingdoms" but they aren't. You end up playing against people that are tens of million power points higher then you so what's the point?

Game does require pay to upgrade if you are not patient. Worst part is that there is no restriction on who can attack who. For example, a level 25 player can attack a level 5. attacks should be restricted to 3 levels above and below to prevent bullying and allow for a more level playing field. Do not be fooled by the advertising, game is nothing like the animation done in the ads.

I've seen a million ads for this game that make it look like a survival/world building game. It's not. It's a slow kingdom builder that starts you out with an entire castle. Maybe stop with the false advertising?? Obviously I'm not going to keep playing this when it isn't what it was advertised to be. And I'm not going to do your job for you for free. If the advertisers you paid aren't doing their jobs, then YOU fire them. I'm not sifting through your ads for you.

Nothing you haven't played already. Rip off Clash of Clans, Vikings, world of war etc. Build farms, city buildings, research, build troops. Line attack on maps to monsters bases and farms. BASICLY a grind game. If you like those then it's fine and playable until you start getting crushed by the pay players. What's worse is the advertising for the game shows game play that so far I have not discovered in the game and don't believe exists. So dont go by the vids promoting this , it's not a shooter or target strategy game as it suggests from the promotion. False advertising to get players for essentially a pay to play game is wrong.

Game that I spent my birthday google play gift card money on, Keeps you busy and helps pass the time. Tons of stuff to do in game. However, purchased items are hit and miss on delivery both with real world money, in game currencies. Very frustrating when you don't get the items you paid for. Sometimes you get gifts that don't show up either, so I uninstalled. Of course the developer will not refund anything because "there were no system errors", etc. Support was also not very responsive. I like the friends I made and the mods were good, but the game was too frustrating to continue trying to get what I paid for so I uninstalled anyway. Also, the packets you pay for are not always what they appear to be, so look closely at the ad and then check to see if you received it after every purchase. Buyer Be Aware...

If you came to download this game because of an add, you will be disappointed. The adds have absolutely nothing to do with this game's actions. It screams false advertising but oh well. This game plays just like any of the hundreds of strategic games out there. Build your castle units in order and in specified locations. Upgrade them in order. Do research. Recruit troops. Fight monsters on map as well as bandit camps. Build your army to attack and defend against other players. Yeah that is adds

CLICKBAIT!!! The actual game is nothing like the ads you have to watch on every other game you play. If it was like the ads, I would love the game, but this is super boring. Get through the tutorial, build something, wait 10 minutes for it to build, wait 10 minutes to recruit troops, wait 20 minutes for them to "march" to another base. And when they get to the base, you don't see the battle, it just tells you the results and another 20 to come back.

The online ads for this game in no way depict gameplay. Those are pure lies. This game is very much structured whereby the more money you spend, the higher your level, the more your power in the game. Everything is for sale - everything. Yet I give it 4 stars because I'm playing it. It is fun, but time consuming. The developers have regular in-game contests and such, which keep it interesting.

In the beginning the game was great, wasn't based on much, great combat system, had to really work to get good gear and stats but it was doable. Now they update every few weeks with new gems, stats, guards and its all messed up. Combat system is off hard and they say free to play, but its definitely centered around you spending money here. They will say otherwise but don't waste your time here. I've played for 2.5 years, it was good, but now its a dumpster fire. Do not download.

I love the game. I love the friends I've made as well. However there are 3 main things that need addressed and they haven't been. GoG constantly asks for what we, as players want, but they don't actually listen. We want upgrades less often. Once a month for new products is insane and it divides the players so much! Also the rewards for events is subpar. The amount needed to actually upgrade is so much more than the inconsequential amount. And last but not least, the glitches are awful!

wonderful game, thoroughly enjoy playing it, however, almost a year in and im exhausted... Its all about how much money you can spend and those that can't pay never catch up because they are constantly releasing new ways to spend money on stats... It would be one thing if these items were available without money, but they are not, thus 1 star... save your time and money and DO NOT PLAY! Edit: Also, enough with the canned responses that are an outright LIE.

I've never played a game before in which money was this important! This game is a pay to win at its extreme. You have to spend money to have a chance in this game, otherwise best free players would just survive. You can pay your way to lvl 30 in a night while everyone else is still lvl 1. Then you would be able to destroy the whole kingdom to prove your power. Just as an example, the game gives you reward chests that you should buy keys to. There are hundreds of bugs and technical shortcomings 2

Do not waste time or money on this game. Absolutely the worst game available (even if you have a big wallet to throw away money). The ONLY good thing is getting to know others from around the world. Cant spend fast enough to compete well (yes, it's a war game). You will lose even after spending, hundreds and definitely even after many thousands. Game updates way too frequent. More to spend on. Yes, can play for free if you like losing all the time. Castle/event matchups ridiculous.

Been playing for about 3 years now. The developers finally went and made it impossible to upgrade certain areas. That is without spending loads of cash. When you do spend like on subscription they never add things only take away. i.e. recruitment banners. It's like you get close to an upgrade then they take it away and make you pay for the rest. Not cool in my book. I am done. Greatest part of the game are the people. I will miss them.

Its a fun game, and so far the only thing i dont like is the toxic players. There needs to be a limit on who you can attack. Many of the higher lvled players are just cowards that attack those that can't fight back. I myself lost 30,000 defending against someone who only lost 300. One guy teleported to me, and completely wiped out my entire clan with just a handful of troops and then teleported away soon after. Of course if you mention it, they tell you to play Farmville, which is a moronic but popular response. I'm not going to play a completely different game just because some players that are too weak to fight people their own lvl keep killing me. This is a war game, and it is fun fighting and defending against other players, but I'd like to be able to stand a chance against my opponent. You might as well have a 20 year old kick boxer fight a 4 year old, but the 4 year old has better odds of winning than players. Everything else in this game is top notch. A solution would be to limit the lvl as soon as they are able to upgrade their troops to the next stage. All for one, and one for all.

Love the realistic graphics of both the people and equipment. Very beautifully done. The scrolling at the top of the screen is annoying and covers up some minor game play. A tutorial of all the buttons would be nice, but I'm figuring it out. Also love the steampunky feel to some elements. I like this better than other "castle keep" games I've played so far because of the rich, gorgeous visuals and the thought put into the details of the characters and scenarios.

This is a "strategy game"?? Lol...this is a social site where people meet other people all over the world in a virtual setting. Playing the game is addictive, no doubt, but like many other comments you'll find, spending a few hundred bucks a week will not keep you level on the battlefield. You'll find that there will be plenty of players with crazy high levels of disposable income that will ultimately leave you lagging way behind, and kicking yourself for the cash you dropped trying to keep up..

I loved this game. I spent a lot of time and quickly built my castle up to level 22. But, I will not play a game that allows other players to attack you consecutively. A strong player began attacking our Alliance leader. He attacked her at least 30 times in a row without pause. Yes, you can buy shields if you happen to be online at the time of the attack. Players should only be able to attack another player once every 24 hours. I deleted my account (takes 15 days).

I've been playing this game since 2018 religiously and it is one of the better strategy games available. My only discrepancy is it seems to reward the most money spent vs. play time spent on the items everyone wants. For example? Castle skins. Why not make them In-App purchases? The fairness of it all is lopsided in terms up upgrading. Yes, various events do come up and do so quite regularly. But? it's no longer a GOG event but a spending contest. Play time should be rewarded as frequently.
