Not very good! The pay to win factor is off the charts! You buy the game and basically half the heroes and towers are locked! Think $5 each or so. Then the gameplay feels totally imbalanced and they just keep playing dirty like adding roads halfway through the mission. Just not much fun to play. I loved the first and second games. Disappointed in Ironhide. Down to 1 star after pestering me for a review i had already given!
Reviews for Kingdom Rush Vengeance TD Game
← Back to Kingdom Rush Vengeance TD GameIt's a great game and exactly what I've come to expect from Ironhide studios. It has a great twist that makes the strategy is a lot harder at first in this game (at least for veteran players) giving you the good challenge and forcing you to think outside the box. I would highly suggest this to anyone who loves strategy games and doesn't want to pay an arm and a leg.(compared to other strategy mobile games) "I want to send a big thank you to Ironhide studios for continuing to create good games!!!
They got gready. Too much paid content for a game I already paid for. Go freemium or include all of the content in the base price. You WILL NOT get all of the content mentioned in the game description for the purchase price, it includes paid add-ons. This should not cost the same as a AAA PC game, which is what unlocking all towers and heroes would require. I own the entire series. Will not buy another game from them.
Even though this one is more $$ than the others, I was so excited to play. BUT it's all over after the campaign! NO additional levels! With it being more expensive to buy AND more expensive IN the game, you'd think we'd at least get the same amount of levels as before!! Super disappointed! I also paid for all the towers, and hated every single one! What the heck?
I really enjoy this game & I've played all the Kingdom Rush games. I even bought all the towers & heroes (worth the purchase). My only request would be, is that there is something to show you've beaten the levels on the higher difficulties. There was a badge in all the older games. It doesn't seem worth doing if there's nothing to show for it. Still, I love the game.
Really annoyed by the reviews claiming this is pay to play. I just beat all twenty levels without paying a dime extra, and I had fun doing it. Even without buying added content (heros and towers), this game is packed with plenty to do and unlock. Yes, towers don't break into two tiers, but there are also more towers available than in previous games. Not my favorite installment in the series, but it was fun and the few dollars I paid provided hours of entertainment. Would recommend.
Nothing exactly new, save for the new towers and heroes. What can I say, really? It's kingdom rush part 4, and it stays true to what makes it awesome and fun, with a few additions. Definitely recommend this game, and I also recommend investing $7 on the dragon hero, makes hard modes more bearable, if you know how to position him well.
Purchased the game but a lot of locked content hidden behind a pay wall. I'm an early adopter and have purchased all previous games before they were for free. In past versions, you had access to more champions and the full spectrum of towers. Unfortunately, the feeling I'm getting is that they delivered the least amount for the most they can get away with. Really disappointed with this one. Also, looking at other reviews, many of people are saying the same thing - listen to your consumer base!
I'd give this a 5 star rating, if it weren't overshadowed by the PC version. If you buy it on steam for he same price, you get access to ALL the content. While mobile makes you pay half the games worth for 60% of the game. Real dick move guys. Though, looking back at it now, I do see that the steam price is larger. But the price of the mobile game plus like, two heros would equal the same amount anyway. I still think it's a bit unfair.
I'm a huge Kingdom Rush fan, and was hyped for this game. However, it feels shorter than all other Rush's and a little easier too. Origin was stupidly hard, but Frontiers was easy, this is inbetween that. I like the focus on the story, but i really miss the almanac, I love to read the information on the little units. If Ironhide looks at this comment, I dont want them thinking its not a good game, it just needs to be improved a little bit. The graphics are a huge improvement as well, good job!
I love this series of TD. A combination of great game play and fantastic art and design. The problem I have is the $5-$7 in app purchases for heroes and towers. I had no problem forking over $5 for the game itself because I like the series so much but I feel like adding all those pricey IAPs takes away from the game. I know it's not making you pay for them but I feel like I'm missing out.
As with all the Kingdom Rush games, this one is very well designed and fun. HOWEVER, I feel the franchise has somewhat lost its way due to excessive monetization. $5 is already a high price for a mobile game. However, this doesn't reflect the true price. The MAJORITY of heroes and towers each require additional purchases and cannot be unlocked through normal play. Overall, the microtransactions are way too greedy for a game I've already paid for.
It's a nice Kingdom Rush game, but I'm not sure why they decided not to include an encyclopedia this time. Once you read the tip for an enemy once, it's gone forever. Also, the game will glitch if you do the bonus stages in the "wrong" order (though it doesn't tell you what the order is). I expected more from the highest priced game in the series.
I've been a fan since the first game and I've been loyal to the series, buying every single one of them. Never minded paying for a well made game and supporting their developers by buying a hero. Nonetheless the micro transactions for some of the towers and majority of heroes take away that feeling that makes kingdom Rush great. It almost feels like i bought an unfinished game that if i would like to enjoy to its fullest i have to pay again. It's just not the same experience.
Edit: game is okay. Entire campaign should have been included in game price. Just set the price higher next time instead of hiding 5 levels behind a paywall. Doesn't make sense. Edit2: in response to developer, I still believe it makes more sense to charge the appropriate fee for all levels up front, even if it's a higher fee. I'm not talking about special characters or anything, it would have just been nice if all levels were included.
OK, but not as good as previous games. Yes, the game is beatable with just base contents, but the game feels restrictive and repetitive with too many contents locked behind expensive paywall in a paid game. I won't be buying any more KR games at this rate. Also, almost all maps have multiple defense points which is fine on PC but not ideal for phones due to small screens. Towers have very little range. Build spots are in awkward places. You're limited to only 5 pre-selected tower types per map.
Kingdom Rush is one of my favorite series of games, but every new release seems more like freemium game than the last one. That would be okay, except for the fact you have to pay for the game!! In this addition, most heroes are available for $ only. You even have to pay extra real $ to buy defense towers. The game is still fun, but that fun is offset by constant reminder of units you can't have without paying a ridiculous amount of money in total.
Game was enjoyable, another good one from Ironhide. However, I dont recommend buying the extra campaign. It cost as much as the game and only added 5 map sites, very disappointing. Maybe for $1.99 I could justify it, but not 6.99. Uodate: forgot to mention, on my Galaxy phone the dialog text is too small to read. old eyes. cartoons are okish but still have to squint.
As a long-time fan of the series, I had no issue with paying here and there to support these wonderful games (and this is still a fun and quality entry!) : I payed for the games themselves, I payed for the Heroes, and I bought the DLCs. However, selling the TOWERS in a tower defense game in such a way that breaks the formula of every other game in the series feels ill-conceived at best and plain insulting at worst. Imagine paying for access to more cards in solitaire.
Lots of fun. It's a good tower defense game. Audio/voices are cool, music is good. The difficulties are nice. Overall, I like the games from this group. Nothing too big brained here, easy to jump into. I am happy to spend a few dollars on the games for the towers. You can earn the gems for the special weapons easy enough and thru videos, so it is a decent game if you so not want to break the bank. I also like the references to Army of Darkness in some of the dialog in the earlier games.
