NOT A TOWER DEFENSE GAME!!! The ad they claim is not like any other of these copy paste Chinese games is exactly like you'd expect. You play a heavily watered down version of what the ad shows. For ten seconds. That's it. Then it's another generic resource farming game like every other one out there. Unoriginal, boring and scam of an ad. Don't waste your time.
Reviews for Kingshot
← Back to KingshotI really like this game. The thing is, it was advertised as a tower defense game. Which, there is a feature, which is super boring, where you get to defend your town. There's also 100 other things going on too, which is why it's fun. I would say the biggest thing this game is offering right now, is essentially an alternate social media platform you can roleplay on. I'm not one for roleplay so I'm just me but pretty much everyone else is some character from a show or movie. Interesting at least.
It's just another gacha P2W "strategy" game. The tower defense is a 💩 mini game that is nothing like the ads and quickly becomes an afterthought in the game. FAKE ADS. Reply to Kingshot - You say tiny part, but it's not even an accurate representation of how it plays in the game. Also, I WANTED tower defense, but you're just a bait and switch. I didn't want a gacha clash of clans clone. Suggestion - Accurately represent your game in your ads.
its always a bummer when the interactive ads are better then the actual game they are advertising. (edit) please understand that when I see game play on a playable advertisement It set a bit of an expectation of what the game is going to look like. it was in no way the same game as the add. infact the actual game looked like a cheep knockoff of the one shown in the advertisement.
The game starts a little slow and elementary, but I'm actually enjoying so much now that I have leveled up. The further in you get and level up, the more the game itself opens up. There is so much to do, I can spend hours playing, but my wallet would also be empty. So if I had to recommend something for improvement it would be the pricing. You wouldn't have to change the structure, keep that the same, just run some crazy deals once in a while! Thank you for a really good time enjoyer!!!!
Not at all a tower defense game. This is nothing like what they show. it's a knock off of puzzles and survival (which also has tons of false ads). If you're not prepared to pay to play then don't even bother with the download. Adding this to the dev response: In no way do your adds show any tiny portion of the game. Your adds show a tower defense game with different maps. that is not the case for your game. I see none of your adds truly represent your games.
Another pay to win type game. Players are far more powerful than you. You can spend months building up troops, and they are gone in 5 minutes. Problem is this game is much more expensive than other games of it's type and once you loss your troops they are gone, other games at least give you a reserve area where you can get a large portion of your troop back. This game is not one of them. I am assuming to force you to spend more money.
You might have seen the misleading ads of this game showing a tower defense type of gameplay. The game might look "a bit" like that at the very beginning but then evolve quickly into a very different and greedy P2W type of game. Tons of rewards give the illusion of generosity when in fact the progression is incredibly slow and repetitive. Many times you'll see some event blocking the final reward with the condition of buying a pack of minimum amount. Don't waste your time and money on this.
Not one bit of the gameplay is what is shown in the persistent ads. In response to the developer comment, I had played the game for a few months prior to my review. There is none, zero, zilch regular gameplay that allows you to run around a tower defense field, collect coins, and build towers that actively shoot. This game is an idle game. What combat there is does not match the ads, you watch only, with the interaction being play speed and activating specials, which are best set to auto.
Same copy & paste slop as Last Z: Survival Shooter and Whiteout Survival. looks kinda like the ads for the first like, 7-15 minutes, then it just turns into another boring resource grinding/town building simulator. If you don't join an alliance as soon as it's available you can feel that it stunts your ability to play and even locks you out of achievements. And not to mention, like the two copy & paste games previously mentioned, it's pay to play. It feels more like a second job, not a fun game.
Don't download the game based off of the ad, it's not that. Based of the ad, I expected a 1-person game. Something I can play by myself, with or without ads. Not an online game with multiple people. Especially when this game is very similar to TopWar which was extremely toxic and I quit that. You all will eventually become to pay-2-win and I wanted to try another game.
Pay-to-win. Misleading ads. Copycat of Last Land: War of Survival. Whoever spends the most will win. Expect your purchases will eventually be stranded on a server with dwindling activity. If you struggle to stay on budget, avoid the game. In two days of play there was scant resemblance to the ads. Tower defense aspect exists but seems to be very minor. Main strategy play & combat seem nearly identical to Last Land: WoS. It lacks some of the fluffy distractions and graphics feel different.
unfortunately this game engages in deceptive marketing practices - it isn't anything like the advertisements show it to be. That wouldn't be as bad, except that the game underneath desperately lacks polish. For example, it is exceptionally easy for an alliance to lack alliance resources and have no way of acquiring them until dozens of days into the campaign- after which it is far too late. I wish I could rank this game higher, but unfortunately because of the polish, it goes in the bucket
Bait-and-switch advertising. The ads depict a game mechanic that is only a *portion* of the actual game. The rest of it is resource collection and base building, neither of which I find entertaining. I uninstalled it after 5 minutes. If you like resource collection and base building, more power to you. I personally don't find grindfests like this fun.
Is this game anything like the tower defense ads? NO. BUT, keep reading, the game is a story game/fighting game where you have to fight raids, upgrade builds, and expand your empire. I actually found the game pretty fun when it comes to playability and the concept. I really wish the ads did not decide me or others like it did. Which is my I only give 3 stars. In conclusion, it's not what it is in the ads but it is still a fun game.
It's not bad. I was shocked to hear voice acting, I think the tutorial was okay, and I like the simplicity of it, but I think it could be better. I don't like that in the beginning, we had access to 2 construction slots, but after some time, the second one just disappears which is just weird and aggrevating. Next is the fact that there's nothing to do when you're idle. Once you start construction and reach your conquer limit, there's NOTHING to do. Maybe let us cook meals or gather resources.
the game started out fun, but it's nothing like the ads say the game is. there is almost no Tower Defense aspect to this game after the first few days of playing. And while there are no ads in the game, it's extremely pay to play. you can have fun without paying, but you will never be able to compete with people who do pay. basically every event is designed to make you purchase packs. it's a very predatory tactic and shows how bad the developers are. shame on you all
Pros: The art is good. The characters are interesting, and the city buildings are appealing. CONS: the game is another one of those pay-to-win whale versus free victims games. The tower defense ads that they've been running is misleading, its just guild wars all over again. Misleading at best, little fun here can be found for casual gamers.
Not quite like the ads. It's in the same genre as clash of clans, but with the ad experience as a mini-game. As soon as I saw it's one of those games where other players can raid me and steal resources, I uninstalled. I was advertised a single-player experience, and I can't stand losing progress. This is a very well-made game, certainly better than CoC, but not for me.
It's alright. The gameplay you see in the ads is technically in the game, but it's mostly irrelevant. This is a base building and resource management game. And that aspect is perfectly fine. The only real black mark is the insane monetization scheme spread across a dozen menus and even more sub menus, all with things they want you to click once or twice a day. And ads on login, over and over. That's gross.
