okay if you have an older phone this game will slow down and lag. Other than that it is a decent port of the game. The only thing I would fix is how R2-D2 sounds. He sounds like someone uped his moving sound to the point of going deaf. Instead of 160 Gold Bricks now its 200 and if had to make an decision it would be to get rid of the blue minkit challenge. One part I do like is the ability to skip cutscenes.
Reviews for LEGO® Star Wars™: TCS
← Back to LEGO® Star Wars™: TCSThe latest update has fixed a couple of major bugs, which I am very grateful for, but there are a lot of other issues with this port. Character models, such as Sebulba in the Podrace Lap 2 cutscene, don't always load right, or load at all. Pausing as you transition to another part of the level is a truly indescribable experience, and the Tow Death Star power brick makes the bombs sometimes clip through AT-ATs in Episode 5 level 1 instead of destroying them. Great game, flawed port. 5/10
It is astonishing just how many things won't load in properly, across both devices I tested this on. Buildings on Coruscant, some of the ships battling over Coruscant, the Tantive IV around Leia and Antilles, C-3P0... About the only level I've played so far that works properly is level 1 of Episode 1. And I'm pretty sure I've gotten more graphically demanding games to WORK on both devices. All you wanna do is finish a game you never completed as a child... All you get is stuff not loading in.
Love the game, but unfortunately it's unplayable because there's a certain point in chapter 5 of episode 1 where the game just force closes. Wouldn't have spent $7 on this game if I'd known that. Will update rating to 5 stars if that gets fixed, though. Edit: It'd be great if I could get a refund. As much as I love this game, it's useless.
Love that I can play this on my phone whenever I want. But, often times after I complete a level, it won't save my progress and I'll have to play through it again. Also, Ep. 1 chapter 5 is glitched. Everytime I get to a specific point in that level, the game crashes. I literally cannot complete the level because of this.
Always was my favorite game since I was a kid. I remember going to Family video with my mom to rent the game and play it every weekend. 25 now and it still holds a place for me. The graphics are the same for the nostalgia, I like the control system and the fact a bkuetooth controller can be used for this game. I was really surprised to see there was an update and it was to support android 15. I have also noticed some of the bugs and glitches I have noticed in the game are gone now.
overall, i love this game and pretty much every lego game i've played, but for some reason, on the mobile version of this game, when you get to episode 4, lvl 2, there's a spot where you need to push a lever and your character just walks through it, so episode 4 is unplayable. that said, i haven't encountered any other bugs like this yet, the rest of the game is probably fine, but consider this before purchasing
Relatively solid port, but there are some things that keep it from being great. For one, there are a lot of graphical issues, such as camera clipping on cutscenes, 2d sprites having improper cutoffs (this is really apparent on the studs and character portraits), and I even had a vertex explosion once. Controller support is iffy as well, with the inability to change characters in free play without use of the touch screen. There are also basically NO options, so you can't rebind controls.
Game is great, but it's clear very little work went into this port. The controls can not be moved on screen, so I find it difficult to get to certain buttons at times. The floor/ground does not render at times, and I wish there was a different way to save. This game only autosaves after completing a level or buying something in the Cantina, and that does not lend itself very well to a mobile game style with shorter sessions. Other than that, it plays like it always has.
Hate giving this a low rating. Loved playing this when it was out on Nintendo DS. One of my all time favorite games so when I saw it on the Google Play store I had to jump on it. Unfortunately, the game is ridden with numerous display issues making several levels extremely difficult to play. On top of that, several characters are reduced to only foot shadows as they're otherwise invisible. If you happen to be on levels with no floor due to glitch, good luck finding your way around. please fix!!
I love lego star wars so much. The game itself gets a perfect 5/5. But after getting it on my Samsung Galaxy a42, the game crashes consistently in the "Retake Theed Palace" level. I've cleared my cache, I've even deleted the game and reinstalled it. All to no avail. It's busted. I'd appreciate any help I could get here cause it's quite possibly my system. But seeing as my system is brand new, I feel like it's a bug.
The game itself is very fun and nostalgic besides a few issues. The first issue is in every single episode, there's textures problems. It gets so bad that you can see through walls and the floor. More texture problems consist of characters literally being invisible (such as CP3O and other characters). WB is probably not going to fix this because the game was last updated in 2022. If you're looking forward to getting this game, just be aware of these problems.
Can't use the red/green push switches! I love that I can play this part of my childhood on the go. Although it has always been a buggy experience, there's new issues that prevent me from proceeding at all. I can't use any of the red/green switches that you push in a circle. I've tried restarted the game, switching control modes, etc. I just phase right thru them like they don't exist.
This is awesome! A classic on Android! Its fun to play on the go and play on the bigger screen when I come home. Its better graphics than games from that era. However, it does some have input delay when broadcasting wirelessly to my TV which im fine with. Something I didn't like at first was the game would crash on certain levels. While I have not tried all the buggy levels, I did manage to pass episode 1 completely and be able to unlock Darth Maul. A must buy for a Lego Star Wars fan.
Nostalgic fun. I played with BT controller (PS4 and 5), making it easier. My issue is the audio problems. Astromechs' sound effects for rolling, the jetpacks, and the power-up ball are loud and almost unbearable to listen to, and sometimes they still continue after they should until you go to another area. Also had 1 instance of characters not visible in a cutscene. Growing up with this game, I knew what I was getting into, though, and it is still great!
I love this game but as you may have seen from previous reviews, most of episode 4 is unavailable because of a glitch on chapter 2. Edit: The glitch has been fixed and the game is now playable. Couldn't be happier. Further edit: Floors on several levels will not load. Just in episode one the problem was heavy on chapters 2, 3, and 6. During the maul fight the only point where the floor wasn't near completely invisible was right at the start and the end. Still playable, but really takes away. 😑
The game itself runs fine, but it's just different enough from the other ports of the game to bother me. First, the option to input cheat codes for various characters and Extras is gone, which is in every other version of this game. Second, the Lego Indiana Jones promotional content from the original was removed, even though the PC version still has it. Finally, certain graphics, such as character Hearts, are off-center, and it makes this port feel like it was rushed.
Edit: Most recent app update, seemingly posted the day after my review fixed the crash I observed. Progress Blocking crash: Episode 1: Chapter 5 cannot be completed. You'll have to open a door using 5 buttons. No problems there, but when you go through the door, the app crashes entirely. I've tried several ways to get by this including sprinting to that point and by clearing everything up until this point. It always crashes upon entering the door.
I have a Galaxy 22 Ultra. Cut scenes cause the game to crash, which means you lose all progress made in the level. So you have to very quickly click to skip them. But you can't always skip it. I've replayed the Dagobah level 5 times. Can't complete it because I can't skip the last scene and it crashes halfway through. And the game only saves *after* it shows the studs and pieces you collected. And you can't do freeplay until you complete story. Controls can't also be unresponsive at times.
It's a great nostalgia game for on the go. However, there're some weird bugs that seem to be prevalent, namely the music will randomly shut itself off and it won't let me turn it back on in the settings, and for some reason the droid movement sounds are incredibly loud compared to everything else, and there's no way to change it.. That, and the hearts and stud counter are offset just enough to cut off abortion if the last heart. if these got fixed, would absolutely be a 5 star.
