So here's my honest take on LetraKid PRO: Learn to Write. I've tested a bunch of educational apps for kids and this one's pretty solid. The handwriting lessons are actually engaging and the different difficulty modes are a nice touch. It's not gonna replace a real teacher, but as a supplementary tool to practice at home, it works well. The only real downside is the ads can get a little intrusive, but you can pay to remove them. Overall, a great option if you're looking to help your young child improve their writing skills.

Pros

  • Tons of tracing exercises for letters, numbers, and shapes
  • Multiple writing styles (print block and pre-cursive) to choose from
  • Difficulty levels start easy and get more advanced
  • Makes practicing handwriting actually fun for kids
  • Free to download, with optional paid version to remove ads

Cons

  • Ads can be pretty annoying if you don't pay for the ad-free version
  • Not a replacement for real handwriting instruction, more of a supplementary tool
  • Might get a little repetitive for some kids after using it for a while

Description

I’ve been using LetraKid PRO: Learn to Write for a couple months now. It’s basically an educational game for young kids (like 4-8 years old) to practice their handwriting and learn letters and numbers. Pretty solid app if you’re into that kind of thing.

Here’s what you do: there are tons of tracing exercises for the alphabet, numbers, shapes, and more. You can choose between print block and pre-cursive writing styles. And it’s got different difficulty levels too – the early ones give you more guidance on how to form the letters properly. Took me a while to figure out all the features but it’s a pretty comprehensive app.

Look, if you’ve got young kids who need help with handwriting, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the ads can get a little annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does a good job of making learning fun. Worth checking out.
