Description
Been playing Lost For Swords for a couple months now. It’s basically a fantasy card game with some cool roguelike elements. Pretty addictive stuff if you’re into strategy games.
Here’s what you do: you explore these procedurally generated dungeons, fighting enemies and collecting loot. There’s also deck-building – you can upgrade your cards and find cool synergies. And the permadeath mechanic is pretty neat, it really makes you think about how you spend your resources.
Look, if you’re a fan of games like Slay the Spire or Hearthstone, you’ll probably dig this. It’s not perfect – the upgrades take forever at higher levels and it can get a little repetitive after a while. But overall it’s a solid game that scratches that itch for strategic card battling.
Editor Opinion
I've tested a bunch of these types of card/roguelike games, and I'd say Lost For Swords is one of the better ones. The combat is satisfying, the deck-building has good depth, and the randomly generated dungeons keep things fresh. Sure, it has some issues like slow progression and occasional grind, but the core gameplay loop is just really compelling. If you're a fan of the genre, I'd definitely recommend giving this a try.
