So here's my honest take on Modern Community. I've tested a bunch of these community-building/match-3 hybrid games and this one's one of the better ones. The art style is really colorful and polished, and the gameplay loop of upgrading buildings and completing puzzles to improve the town is addictive. And i also like the social elements like clan battles. But it does get a bit repetitive after a while, and the monetization is your typical free-to-play with ads and long upgrade timers. Still, if you're a fan of the genre, I'd say it's worth checking out.

Description

Been playing Modern Community for a couple months now. It’s basically a game where you help revitalize a struggling community – there’s a bunch of quirky residents you get to know, and you do stuff like design community spaces, hold events, and even try to set up the Community Manager with a love interest. Sounds kinda cheesy but it’s actually pretty fun.

Here’s what you do: you complete match-3 puzzles to earn resources, which you can use to upgrade businesses, build parks and other amenities, and generally make the town look nicer. There’s also a whole social element where you can join a clan and coordinate attacks with your teammates. And the story has some surprises – you never know what kind of drama is gonna pop up next.

Look, if you’re into casual strategy games with a bit of narrative, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the upgrades take forever at higher levels and the ads can get annoying if you don’t pay. But overall it does the job and I’ve found it to be a pretty solid time-killer.
