I think there's close to zero substance in this game. It works, runs decently, and has things to collect, but it doesn't feel like anything but a treadmill that wants your money every 10 minutes. The game wants you to connect with others to push progress in the hope that someone is willing to feed it cash, but it is ultimately not worthwhile to play
Reviews for MONOPOLY GO!
← Back to MONOPOLY GO!The game seems rigged to lean into the pay to play territory more than usual lately (running out of dice just before hitting a prize) It has been a very long time since I've been able to finish a partner event, even with loads of dice earned by completing my album. Last time I spent over $20 and learned my lesson because I still didn't finish. Is that not enough money? Trading stickers has become more fun than the game itself but over time the pointlessness of it all starts to weigh.
Don't pay for dice. The more you buy, the worse the gameplay is because they know you'll buy more. For instance, if you're low on shields and being attacked, you'll never land on shields as they know you'll pay for more dice to get the shields. It's not random rolls of the dice, it's very manipulated and ruins the game. Update: Spent enough time playing to say that it's absolutely not random. Very manipulated game play, which seems like it should be illegal since some people pay so much to play
It is a lot of fun. It's definitely pay to win though. You will have a very hard time collecting anything unless you pay money. Recently they done an update and added the tycoon tab. That's even more spending. They do give you a free spin and gift in the tycoon area so that was cool. It was cool. Then my tycoon disappeared. Some people can still go to the tycoon page and some can't. Maybe they will fix it. Waiting to see if I go up or down in stars for this review.
Was fun at first but now it just sucks. You're so called "friends" can attack you as much as they want. 13 times? This is excessive and should not be allowed. This is the 4th time that this has happened to me. I tried contacting support to fix it but they don't have support anymore and just send you to a FAQ page. Like comon 3 times shiuld be maximum. All they want is your money. They have so many adds that come up when you are out of something it's ridiculous but you cannot buy more shields?
Message to the marketing dept.: I had this game installed and played it almost nonstop for months, but needed a break. Now I keep getting ads for it through 1 of my free reading apps. Everything I would close out the ad, it would open the game. This happened about 30 times within an hour as it was the only ad opening. So I UNINSTALLED the app, and the ads continued...it was the ONLY AD that would come up. NOW I HAVE GIVEN THE GAME 1 STAR. DO NOT INSTALL THIS APP! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!!!!!!
I was a fan at first but as soon as you're no longer a newbie at the game they purposely make it so rigged to the point where its nearly impossible to make it at decent levels in the events. On top of that, the albums are ridiculously hard to complete. They make it so that you have to pay real cash if you want to win. And the golden blitz are rare to catch, and usually, they're not even the cards you need. I dont recommend this game unless you dont mind wasting your money and time
I like the game, but I have some issues with the way the payouts are. For example, for Community Chest, I haven't gotten the purple sticker pack in many months, and it's frustrating, really. I've gotten cheated on the Cash Boost a couple of times when it started the timer, but cut out about a minute into it. Dice payout is still a bit stingy to the point that it seems like the DEV thinks we have a money tree in our yards and can buy dice at will. Already spent more on this than I should.
I finally had enough of this game, after playing for 3 years I uninstalled it for good. It's beyond frustrating playing a game that has no rewards whatsoever. Being a part of the tycoon club doesn't actually matter if all you land on is the lowest money spot, playing the Peggy event doesn't matter at all if the game instant drops and gives you the lowest amount. All this game is, is a cheap money grab and if you don't spend money you don't get rewarded.
Decent game. I've played similar games that feel more rewarding. The Peg-E game is rigged. This game is definitely programmed to lower your odds of being successful when you need it the most.. They've obviously made all the mini games more difficult to complete . There's definitely a bot/Ai issue that makes you question the integrity of the game. You always get the bare minimum in return when you achieve something in the game. Play at your own risk of frustration in moments.
Way too many popups. When you login, expect 4 popups before you get to play the game. Then, when you run out of Dice, another 4-5 popups before you can close out of the game. The company has to make money, I get it, but it's becoming too overwhelming every time I decide to play. The game is fun, but the popups NEED to get reduced.
Would be nice if purchased sticker packs through any offers contained items that are not easy to get otherwise. I used to love this game and cannot begin to add up how many hundreds of dollars I've spent playing but I think that's about to end. This game is no longer fun because you can't accomplish anything without spending and I've been playing since the inception of the game just about. I'm still at 200 max dice build also, this also makes no sense when others are at 400 and at a lower level.
This game is a giant microtransaction, that uses manipulative tactics in order to get you to spend as much money as possible. Rigged predetermined dice rolls, stingy sticker packs that rarely ever give you what you need, and always falling just short of what would be a big win, unless of course you are willing to pay. Just like most games of its kind, the wins come quickly and easily at first, before being locked off behind increasingly large pay walls. Scopely has earned its bad reputation.
my only complaints I have in the 2 years I've been playing is how hard it is to obtain stickers towards the end of the albums, it won't give you new stickers at all for days and days! And when there are certain partner events it's super hard to finish them sometimes, when it doesn't let you get the things you need for points. But I play this game every day, I'm absolutely addicted to it! Obsessed! If the sticker situation was fixed it would definitely be 5 stars for me!
I liked this game until I started leveling up really quickly by playing side games. Now it's refusing to give me rewards. I'm +200 points to get 34 million, which puts me at the next level. Reached out to support with screenshots. They gave me a basic trouble shoot text. Tried everything and still not rewards. They said they would look into it, but that doesn't help me get my past due reward or whatever the next one would be. Fun until you start doing well. Same issues 11/2024, 5/2025.
I've put so much effort to complete the sticker set & unable to despite dropping money, making sure not to miss an event or daily, & even using 2 different apps to trade. My friends both have spent a larger amount of money just to complete the sticker set. But as I've been playing I notice that my "luck" seems against me. I understand that the game runs on a random generator but seeing that it is stacked against everyone I see no point in playing. No one wants to constantly be loosing.
The game starts off fun enough....you get through some levels and you are able to have a bit of fun while playing...but, like any game, this one's goal is to draw you in to spend money...and we aren't talking 2-3 dollars. We are talking HUNDREDS of dollars. Lots of mini games in the main game...now, of course you need to land on certain squares to get points and items to complete the mini-games. Just know that they change the algorithm for rolling dice on these games non stop. STAY AWAY!!!
I had an issue with receiving the wrong rewards in this game. I provided digital proof and was advised I was wrong. I've spent more money than one should and received no real customer service for a simple error in the game. I will no longer spend money on Scopley games, including Pogo which I've been playing since the beginning. Please look into my case. I've wasted so much time with your employee that's calling me a liar essentially and has no customer service skills.
Let me say this. These are my opinions. 1. Way to many animations.. I want to option to turn them off. Or there needs to be fewer. Especially when I just open the game. I don't want to be hit with 20 pop ups. They slow down game play. And just plain annoying. 2. The amount of money you have to spend to get rolls or stickers etc. Cost way to much. And I have alot of friends who play and have said the same thing. 3. When I'm out of rolls O-Well. I don't need 10 pop ups telling me to buy more.
Rather boring game, not much to do, CONSTANT in-app purchase nags, but no ads though. Graphics look really nice though. Update: This game is 100% pay to win for all the multiplayer features and there are MANY whales in this game. Also you'll never complete any of the challenges or sticker collections until you give them money and lots of it. If it wasn't for the fact I play this with some friends I would have ditched this game a while ago.
