Description
I’ve been playing No.9 for a couple months now. It’s basically a relaxing puzzle game where you sync up geometric shapes and figures to this really calming soundtrack. Pretty solid if you’re into that sort of thing.
Here’s what you do: There are these shapes that move around the screen and you have to tap them in time with the music. It’s not too hard but there’s some strategy to getting everything in sync. There’s also a bunch of different levels and puzzles to solve – took me a while to figure some of them out but it’s satisfying when you do.
Look, if you’re into chill, meditative games, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the puzzles can get a bit repetitive after a while – but overall it’s a nice way to relax and unwind. Worth checking out for sure.
Editor Opinion
I've tested a bunch of these 'zen' puzzle games and No.9 is one of the better ones. The visuals are really clean and calming, and the soundtrack is super relaxing. Gameplay is simple but has surprising depth - took me a while to get the timing down. It's not gonna blow you away, but it's a solid way to unwind and destress. My only real complaint is that it can get a bit samey after extended play, but that might not bother everyone.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Gorgeous, minimalist visuals that are pleasing to the eye
- Soundtrack is incredibly soothing and pairs perfectly with the gameplay
- Puzzles are challenging enough to keep you engaged without being frustrating
- No ads, no in-app purchases - just pure, distraction-free gameplay
Cons
- Puzzles can start to feel a bit repetitive after prolonged sessions
- Might be a bit too simple and 'zen' for some players looking for more depth
- Not a ton of variety in the level designs, so it may not hold your attention forever
