Update 4/30/25: I QUIT. The constant barrage of ads (there is no balance) has sucked all the enjoyment out of this app. Finishing with 3,963 pics. But I'm done because of the ads. If I could rate this app 0 stars I would. If you want to watch a plethora of ads, this is the app for you. If you want to color pictures and relax, find another coloring app.
Reviews for Paint by Number: Coloring Game
← Back to Paint by Number: Coloring GameUsed to be my favorite coloring app, but I really hate the AI that has been creeping in. I'll be halfway through a picture and suddenly realize that the picture has inconsistent objects - a table cuts off halfway through, a curtain rod blends into the wall, books arranged in physically impossible ways. I wish they would go back to the old pictures, drawn by an actual human.
The colors are pretty and there are lots of cool line drawings and such to color. I appreciate that there aren't a ton of ads! However, I don't love that some of the pictures are a bit risque. Some of my kids like to use the app on occasion. Also, the "stories" section is neat, but wildly inaccurate. I've read several of those books, and though the storylines in the app are fine, they are nowhere close to the books they are kind of ripping off. :/
I really love playing this game. I might have a little obsession lol. There are a few glitches I noticed tho, like when you zoom in all the colors go wonky. Also sometimes when I try to move the screen it gets really laggy. Over the game is great and I play it pretty much everyday. Most of the time when you install a coloring game there are only a few coloring pages but there are loads on this one, I just wish there were more of the fantasy ones lol.
Works great as a coloring app, but the ads feel excessive. Long wait to get to the coloring page, and then if I back out of the page and try and get back in I wait again. similarly it's hit and miss if AI leave the app and return I may or may not be forced to wait again. while I certainly understand ad support the ads out weight my patience for something that's supposed to be a mindless activity.
amazing game! the art pieces that you paint look so realistic when completed, and there are new ones every day! my only issue with the game is that some places that you are supposed to paint are almost impossible to find. one art piece took me two days to finish, simply because I couldn't find the tiny, almost invisible corner that I needed to color. the only reason I finished it is because I watched an ad to find it. if the game didn't do that, I would give it five stars
UPDATE: I gave it some time and I'm done. The amount of ads is annoying. It's worse than 2 months ago. Uninstalling today, developer is just money hungry. Idk what happened in the last couple weeks, but I don't like it. This game was so awesome for months. Lots of new puzzles, great graphics, zero to little ads. Now I have an ad before, after a pause, and after ending a puzzle. Just way too many ads. I'm actually thinking about uninstalling now that I'm getting bored.
I'm about to uninstall this app. I used to love it, it was very relaxing. Now every single time I go to color, I get hit with a game ad I can't get out of without playing it & opening the Play store. To get to my picture I have to exit the app & go back in, sometimes more than once. It's to the point now where I spend more time looking at ads for other games than playing this one. I understand that ads are part of it, & I can deal with the videos. But not these game ads.
The game itself is fine but the advertisement claimed to have "no annoying ads" but after my third artwork I received an ad. I'm not a huge fan of false advertisement so I'd like this to be fixed. An ad coming up after you finish a peice without it being optional is still considered a pop-up ad as it does, infact, pop-up. also if you dont want to false advertize you should specify that it is no pop up ads, and not no ads in general.
I love this app it's very addicting. But recently I've been experiencing this glitch and hoping for an update but nothing yet. whenever I zoom out on a picture I'm working on, a bunch of areas I've already filled in will go blank. even after ive completed a picture the gaps will remain blank, ruining the picture. it also makes it harder to zoom out and search for any last blank pieces remaining. pls fix this, thank you :)
I played this game daily for years. With an update earlier this year, they took away most of the incentive to play. Few opportunities for diamonds anymore, even when marking large milestones. Most of the milestone rewards are now "bonus" pictures, which I have no interest in coloring. No more rewards for coloring more than 5 pages in a day. Even the reward for coloring a page seven days straight isn't worth it. The tiny coloring cells meant many "daily" pictures took 45 minutes + to color.
I've enjoyed Paint by Number every day for many months. I did have a monthly subscription, but since I don't use all of the app features (storybooks, for example) I decided to stop my subscription. Sure would appreciate a one-time yearly price of about $12, like Zen Color does. 😠EDIT: Without the monthly fee it is impossible to use Paint by Number because of the ads that immediately appear, cover my screen and cannot be closed. SO this app is useless unless you pay every month 😠
I am changing my 5 stars to two. I used to play this several times a week. The drawings are beautiful, the artists are talented, but it's gone from a peaceful game to annoying. I can't open a picture without an ad, I can't change pictures without an ad, I can't look at new pictures without ads. Oh you can buy the premium package, which is what they want by annoying you with ads, but it's out of my budget. There are other paint games less annoying.
Way too many ads that load very slowly or get stuck permanently. As soon as I finish one ad I am forced to see more within a few minutes which knocks me right off the project I am working on. Now I am being forced to take long surveys to continue, no backing out. Premium subscription is overpriced for a game in decline. In the beginning, everything's great until it isn't by design. I have more relaxing ways to spend my time. This is fustrating!
No sign of the paint by number pictures shown in their advertisement - so frustrating! As for the developer's response, it is not even close to on-point. Your ads show pictures for Paint By Number, but those pictures are nowhere to be found in your app! False advertising!!! Your app is not the only one that does this - so many of them show pictures that are not in the app - this is false advertising (enticing people with a product that you do not have or does not do what they say it does).
Relaxing. I like the fact that it doesn't automatically highlight the next number. UPDATE 9/7/25 -One thing I'm noticing and do not like to the point I may uninstall it are the ads. I can't get out of them. I have to exit the game, close the window and go back into the app. Sometimes that doesnt even work!! Now, unfortunately, it's taking away all the fun it originally provided. 👎
I love to fill in the colors. There is so many choices in the art. The only thing that is a bit frustrating is that some of the areas are pin point size I don't think it is necessary for it to be that small. Granted I have earned more hints than I will ever use but it can be frustrating. I would love to hear back about my feed back, as the small spots are getting more predominate in the daily works.
I've been absolutely loving this game! Have been averaging around 25-30 pictures colored per day. I can't get enough. My favorite to color are the "mystery" pictures that have no outline. I've finished them all and I hope they plan to add more in the future! The only question I would have for the developers is this-- what are the gems used for? I have over 3000 gems because I have the premium subscription, but I haven't been able to find anything to spend them on. Keep up the great work!
The pictures are all really great! I'm happy that there aren't very many ads. Tbh, I wish there were fewer (there are ads sometimes to get into pictures) . In all, it's a really good app. Although, after a while, I started getting weird ads(as in like BAD WIERD ads...) Other than that, I've had a really good experience 😌
One of the best coloring apps I've tried... also the most expensive (if you want a subscription to eliminate ads). The ads seem to be getting longer and more frequent, making a subscription an appealing option - if it wasn't so expensive! The pictures are awesome and it's a great app overall, it's just priced out of my league and the ads are getting frustrating. It's honestly made me start looking for alternatives. 😢 if price and lengthy ads aren't an issue for you, I highly recommend.
