Description
Been playing Quad Touch for a couple months now. It’s basically a suite of classic Quake engines that you can use to play the original Quake and Hexen 2 games on your phone. Pretty solid app if you’re into retro FPS games.
Here’s what you do: you can pick between different engine versions like DarkPlaces, QuakeSpasm, FTEQW, and more. Each one has slightly different features and graphics. There’s also a Quake 2 engine and an IOQuake3 engine – took me a while to figure out all the options but it’s cool to have so much choice.
Look, if you’re a Quake fan, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the UI can be a bit clunky sometimes – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you wanna relive the old school Quake experience on your phone.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take on Quad Touch. I've tested a bunch of retro gaming apps and this one's pretty solid. The graphics look great and it runs smooth, even on my older Android phone. Plus it's free to play, so you don't have to spend any money to enjoy the classic Quake and Hexen 2 games. But I will say the menus and controls take some getting used to - it's not the most intuitive app out there. And the ads can get a little annoying after a while. Overall though, if you're a Quake fan, Quad Touch is worth downloading.
