I used to love Redecor!! It was relaxing, I enjoyed and looked forward to decorating at least 3-5 rooms and events a day. Until lately!! You used to be able to win items for your inventory and purchase items with the higher value coins. They COMPLETELY took those options away and replaced them with a wheel of cards for their side event that isn't even fun to begin with AND takes winning anything FOREVER!!! I'm VERY DISAPPOINTED!! Now it's FAR FROM RELAXING & now it just feels like a chore!!!
Reviews for Redecor - Home Design Game
← Back to Redecor - Home Design GameThe game is WAY too expensive. you start out okay and then suddenly you never have enough coins to do anything or design the way you want. when you need money the most, you'll never win so you'll never get any. the reward for anything other than 1st place doesn't even cover the cost of a single item. it's a useless money trap that used to be fun before the new company monetized it
I'm really impressed with this "game". there's so many options of colors and patterns, endless combinations. I also enjoy the ratings and contests. Other types of games only have maybe 10 selections per level. The only reason I didn't give 5 is because you have to pay to open up certain artwork/swatches and that can make it unfair when voting.
This game starts out fun and relaxing. It definitely pulls you in. However, without spending money, it quickly becomes harder to create different designs. Whether or not voting is rigged to favor paid players, I can't prove it, but I am highly suspicious that it is. I would probably pay a monthly subscription, as the game is fun, but not $18 a month!! That's almost as much as my gym membership.
Recent Update Tragedy. The new update has made the game virtually impossible to play. The creators made the game so much more difficult to play with the hope that people would spend their money to buy money in the game, but it is so bad I doubt you would get very far doing that either, even if you had spent a hundred dollars on it. The game was challenging but fun and it gave you the opportunity to make more money to buy stuff, now, good luck submitting more than one design per day. Despicable.
Rewards could be better - I appreciate that this game is free to play but the rewards could be a lot better. The in-game designs which you use on everything (you can use a whole design for a small cup on a table) need to either be a little cheaper or better rewards need to be given. There's no feeling of achievement or progression when you spend $11k on a design and use it 5 times, then your reward is $3000 for the whole task. They need to improve the rewards system or the cost per design.
Not all options are made available to everyone, especially in the duel designs, the preselected materials are not the same for each player, which is wrong. when a new material is unlocked it should be new and different, instead only more of the unlocked ones appear, it's a total rip off. This game has completely gone down hill.
Mixed fun n frustration. After taking a break from the game, I was dismayed to discover that many of the items I had earned and paid money for are now unavailable and locked behind a Designer Level. This feels incredibly unfair and has devalued the time, effort, and money I've invested in the game. It's expensive to play, the voting is not accurate making a design that costs a lot of coins to produce is not always rated properly-so you miss out on prizes.
Too many popups!! I want to whip out this game and do a design while I'm waiting in line or something but by the time I click through 10-12 promotions (I count them)the opportunity to play is gone! The popups don't stop there, they just keep coming-if you win, if you don't win, if you vote, if you buy something..on and on. Guys, I would pay you money if you would just let me play the game!!
Redecor is a game I've enjoyed for a while now. There are plenty of diverse options for materials, wallpapers, flooring, etc. However, lately, it's been extremely hard to earn currency and the rewards feel like they're not giving you as much. If you download, you're going to have to grind for cash and devote a lot of time to this app.
hate the changes. I've been playing this game for years. now there's the added my world. dislike that. And I especially don't like one can no longer see the coins needed for decor choices individually. It's all lumped into one large coin usage when submitting. I don't like the changes at all. Looking for a different decor app and will delete this one. Seems more complicated now. Nothing was wrong with how it was.
I used to love this game, started playing when it came out. Honestly trying to keep up with the money, without paying real money, is a pain. it's kind of expensive for people on a budget, just wanting to play a fun game. I think the greed of our world sucks, just to play a game. if there was more of an incentive to pay to play, I would. But I have an Xbox with Sims to do that. I have a Google phone I pay for, that gives me free access to design. just saying
This game has the best graphics by far. 2 yrs ago I rated it 5 stars. But I'm quitting because of the outrageous demand to make in-game purchases to complete the challenges, loss of monetary rewards, & inconsistent story lines. The judging is unpredictable. Some designs cost $40,000 game cash & then only earn a $4000 prize. For a month I tried upping my spending to see if I could increase my chances to win. Not at all! 2025 I'm still playing, less. Gaming coins & caches cost more each month.
You need money to play. You literally aren't able to "design" a single room unless you spend money. This used to be a great, competitive game, but now has evolved into a battle of almost identical rooms done by the idiots spending cash. Strongly do not recommend this rip off!! In response to devs: I have received first place and could still only afford to do one design. No way to progress at that rate, be realistic!
Game is better. There's an issue where the rewards/win prizes have gone waaaay down while the prices of materials have gone up - I didn't expect inflation to hit in game as well!! If you don't pay for the designer status security, it's hard to maintain status, and even the shop rewards (y'know, the ones you pay real money for) have gone down. (9.99 for 500 star coins? It costs 300 to unlock three random items! 250-300 to pick a single individual item. It's highway robbery at this point...)
Updating my review. The new changes to the game in "beta" are horrendous. Now materials have no charge but my rooms are charged per entry which are exorbitantly high. I don't even know what they charge to enter a room challenge. Now I can't play every day because I'm trying to collect the thousands of coins that have gone missing. And the "My World" is completely useless. I don't even go in there after I saw what it was.
It is a fun game, but sometimes the voting is off. you should not have to try 4, 5, or even 6+ times to get 3 stars. I also don't think they give enough items when you purchase them. I also think they could give more of the coins to let you unlock items or just do away with it all together. It's hard for a person on a fixed income to have to keep purchasing things just to be able to unlock items.
I have to say that that is the best design app there is because I feel that the items are real life quality and there are a lot to choose from. The part that I don't like is that the voting doesn't seem to match up with each other, one could have bright colors while the other has minimal dull colors, this makes it uneven. Also after you submit your design and you win, your progress isn't automatically ranked up on your design progress level.
I like that you can take your time to design room decor. While you do not have to spend money in the game, you definitely have more choices on the items you can use to decorate if you do spend money. The competitions where people vote sometimes do not make sense how they are processed because I have seen designs that should have been first place on fifth, and those that get first place should be much lower. But it is still a relaxing fun game to play if you like to choose color pattern designs.
It's a fun & simple way to design. Entertaining and addictive. Just like pretty much all apps nowadays, in purchase offers are available in the game BUT you don't have to buy anything if you don't want to. You can still play, and as long as you do it right, you can play & win...for free lol. This game is good for my attention span, too, as I suffer from ADHD. If you like designing or creating, I highly recommend it.
