This is the best real, and I mean real, RTS on android. The controls are easy to pickup on, and can be customised to an extent in the options menu. The sounds effects are decent scifi affair. I would like more impactful sounds for some of the weapon. The graphics are clean and easy to identify most units. Some of the round ones take me a moment. I particularly like the smoke trails for the missiles that I hadn't noticed until the new update. I would like the option for a TA style Commander.
Reviews for Rusted Warfare – RTS Strategy
Fun rts, gives a blast from the past vibe. The only problem is that the controls and navigation are kinda hard for me. I wish I can zoom in and out using the pinch and pull gesture rather than it selecting the units. As for selecting the units, a gesture where you hold down one finger for a certain amount of time then swiping with the other finger to select units would be great. Just my opinion. Controls on phones are hard to get down especially for rts.
Had to edit my review. While singleplayer for this game is honestly perfect in my eyes, and all I can think of to further improve it is an in-game map editor, multiplayer is a bit of an issue. Most of the matches have at least one player that's miles above the others in experience. If a level system was worked in, and players were restricted to games close to their level, this could totally fix the issue. Will add the final, glorious star once this is addressed.
This is my favorite game. No ads, no in-game purchases, just good, clean strategy and tactics! Would love to be able to setup specific routes for units, so I don't have to micro-manage movements. Also, different battle modes (like recon, defend-only or attack) would reduce micro-managing by providing better control of when units engage the enemy.
The AI needs a massive overhaul. Even set at Impossible, the AI can't comprehend nukes (and sparsely builds nuclear/experimental units), and most attacks on your base are smaller than a dozen units; meanwhile, you can easily spawn 100+ units and sweep the enemy base. Overall, I love the game, but there really isn't a challenge; at the same time, however, the UI, minimal tutorial and long matches might push away more casual players. Again, I love this game, but it's certainly not for everyone.
Great game. I feel that there should be more options to customize controls though. I never use pinch to select multiple units and I would much rather pinch be zoom. Otherwise though, the game is really fun. It's lacking a little in variety, but that's to be expected from a a mobile game still in development. Also, fixing up the tutorial would be nice. It's not horrible, but it's only four slides and I was confused at first.
Running very smoothly on my android 11 device. As an old school CnC player, It is a little better than i was expecting it to be, and is in some ways an improvement upon similar type PC games that were available in the late 90s / early 2000s. The AI although somewhat predictable after a couple rounds, doesnt always make the same move and has kept me busy so far. Adding a random element would break things up in a good way. ( random nuke , asteroid impact, weather, stealth units )
Best RTS experience on mobile - hands down! Having played Total Annihilation, Supreme Commander (1, FA, and 2), and Planetary Annihilation on PC, I can confirm this is the closest you can get while on a mobile platform. The developer has created intuitive controls in everything from selecting units to strategic zoom. The AI is solid for single player and multi-player is easily set up. The Endless Survival mode is also a great addition! Many thanks to all those who developed this!
This game is exactly what I've been looking for, for a long time. Well worth the price and no ads. Ive spent over 100hrs playing this game, I'd like to see a difficulty between "very hard" and "impossible", very hard is easy enough to beat but impossible is extremely hard to win against almost like the AI has unlimited money. *It would be awesome to add sea turrets that you can build in the water *Be able to build the modular spider instead of just start with it in the advanced settings
I could say much of this game. To be brief, it is outstanding. Furthermore, it is the only *true* classic RTS that I know of in the play store. One note for the devs: the 'very hard' difficulty is very easy for me against multiple opponents, while the 'impossible' setting is, well, impossible against multiple opponents. I wish there was an in-between difficulty.
