Great game, almost 5 stars. We play this game a lot. I only have two issues: 1: When you land on a payday space, it's kind of a waste. In the actual game, you used to get a pay bonus for that turn. Now, you get nothing extra...just a wasted turn. 2: When I'm logged into the world option, when I try to zoom out on my turn, I can't see everyone else's tokens. So I have no idea how I should be playing. Other than that, we enjoy it a lot!
Reviews for The Game of Life 2
← Back to The Game of Life 2I thought this game would be at least AS good and have as much depth as it's 98 counterpart. The game is trash. Can't believe I paid for it. No depth at all. Things happen and nothing matters. It's so short. You can complete a game in 5 minutes. I rolled 1 after 1 and the game only lasted for 15 minutes. Tldr: short, boring, life ripoff, every other feature other than base game locked behind about 100$ in pay wall, Short.
I bought the app, which I rarely do, thinking of how much I used to love playing Life. Then I find out you only get one map and have to pay for any extras. Absolutely no way to earn them, it's pay real money or nothing. Total scam in my opinion. The game seems fun and graphics are cute but I don't need an app that is just a money pit. Returning it!
My family has really been enjoying this game, and we really like the fact that a Facebook account isn't required to play with each other. The only suggestion we have is that it would be nice to have the option for a longer game. Sometimes the game seems very short. Which is fine sometimes, however, a longer game would allow more time to achieve objectives such as buying a house, getting a family with children and pet (it's hard enough sometimes just getting one let alone multiple), etc.
i really enjoy this game, always have even as a child. I love the different maps and a lot of times there's a bundle deal of some sort so it is rather easy to purchase them over time...they aren't horribly priced either considering it as a hole.i do wish I could change up the character a bit more though EDIT: I enjoy the characters we have, I was thinking like color variations of what we have kinda like the vehicles.
I have only played this once. The animation is fairly decent. The options were okay even if the "actions" did seem a bit limited after the third or fourth yellow spot hit. One thing which did bother me a little was how small the board felt. I guess I still remember the original game board being much longer and more flavorful by having mountain ranges and bridges to drive over. Using multiple gauges to determine the overall winner was a nice touch.
You get 1 map, then have to pay for each map after. Spinner is not actually random. I've tested this, and the spinner will only give you certain numbers, based on your choice at the stops. The computer characters make terrible choices, yet are very "lucky" when it comes to landing on the spot they need. You usually win the game, but this game is full of errors. You also spend more time waiting for the other characters to finish, than anything else. This could be a great game,
Was really excited to download this game. What you get for $4 is 1 board, the standard outfits and cars, and if you complete 6 "missions" you can unlock some really disappointing outfits and 2 cars that look alike. If you want the FULL game, it's $34.99+tax. Outfits start at $.99 and can go up to $3.99, with new boards for $5 a piece. Extremely let down for a game I paid for.
It is ok, but here is an issue that I'd like to address for improvement. Online play is a disparaging experience. People tend to quit with no repercussions for it. The game is slow but with details, it is fine if people don't bail. You can tell a player quits when it takes 4 minutes for it to "auto" spin. Also, when a player has quit and lands on an action/event tile, the game stops progressing! Stuck until the "player" clicks an option. I waited for 20+ min. and the 2 choices were still there!
Meh...I like some of the options they've added like adopting pets and the gender neutral character, the option not to get married, but there just doesn't seem to be as much variety or as many options as the first one. It just kind of feels extended and dragged out. The only thing you really work at is getting the achievements. Graphics are better of course but not really enough to grab me. Played it a couple of time to see if it got more interesting. Nope. Get #1 if you want to play.
I've been looking for a game that I can play that doesn't require coins or dumping money into it to keep going. This is the one. Really fun with length gameplay. Some people don't like the lack of character customization. I don't mind it too much, but that is one area of improvement I see. Can't complain much though - the lack of being bombarded with ads, no coins or timed rewards to play, id gladly pay .99 for a cute character outfit. Awesome job with this one!
It's a pretty decent mobile game to pass the time. No advertisements which is good since you have to pay money for it. It's a little small in content however. And pretty heavily focused on RNG. But it is modeled after The Game of Life board game which is entirely luck based. This, however, makes it annoying when trying to complete a specific challenge. You can go 4 games in a row and never have a baby just because of unlucky spins. Overall it's pretty good, but could definitely be improved upon
The map is too short. In most of my playthroughs none of the players get a house, let alone buy and sell more than one. Seems like a waste of an idea since it's so rare to land on a house space. There are also many playthroughs without any pets or kids. The map is just too short to experience the content. Also each game has 4 players but there are only 3 different icons to choose. Other than that, it is fun!
Only been playing for a few hours, but for $3.50 and no ads, with all the new additions, I can't complain much. Although, my only complaint thus far is that I'm fairly certain I'm playing with bots rather than actual people when playing online...I switched to another app on my phone several times during an online game, only to find the previous player still on their turn, on the exact same space they were when I changed to a different application..it should be made clear to us if they use bots.
Fun, classic Life experience. I do like the fairy tale add on as well. Online can be frustrating when opponents aren't taking turns. There isn't a timeout or anything so you just wait forever. I gave it 3 stars because of this, and because I paid for the World bundle months ago and am still waiting. I'm wondering when another world (or world's) will be out.
It's a fun game. It reminds me of the original board game. You can also play with friends in person by passing the phone, or with online players. In single player mode, you can raise the speed of the bots to 5X. Shortcomings are that even though I paid for the game, I still have to pay more money for any bells & whistles. And, the game does not have the stock, or fire & auto insurance. Cute game!
It's the game of life, but better. The reason for a low rating is that I paid $3.99 for it. Doesn't that mean I should be able to unlock new aspects of the game for free? Why is it $34.99 for all locked content at a "steal" of 73% off or $4.99 each? I have no problem paying for a great game, but that should come with a way to unlock all game content for free. If you want to microtransaction people do what other previously paid games (like Plants v. Zombies 2) did and become free.
My girlfriend and I play this game a lot. The maps are awesome, the little rewards you can work towards are great! But there's a voice chat option in the game that when clicked, bugs my game out. The only option I have is to exit the whole app, and restart. I avoid it of course, but say I drop my phone or accidentally slide my finger across it and boom! Lost everything. Hope this gets fixed!
This game is very fun. I wish we could change the names of the players in Pass and Play, that we could oust players who are taking a really long time to make moves in Online Multiplayer, and that we could view the different houses/jobs, etc. that we've gotten throughout the game. Also, the family choices are glitchy; I've chosen dog and gotten a cat, I've chosen a girl baby and gotten a boy. It's not cool that you have to pay $4.99 each to unlock other boards when the game already costs $.
I wish there were more board options without having to buy an add-on, it's gets a little repetitive. That being said I really enjoy the game, no issues with connecting to other players online. My daughter and I love to play the pass it mode a lot too. I love the new outfits and such that you can earn like little achievements. It's basically a faster version of the old school board game.
