First, the game is absolutely nothing like the ad. I actually started looking forward to getting the ad so I could play it, so I downloaded. At first I thought there must be some backstory game play before you get to the real thing, but nope. And as you can guess, after a bit you won't be able to play without paying. also some weird drama is going on with this game IRL, because the devs put out an announcement about people talking smack and spreading rumors of what's happening in their office
Reviews for Whiteout Survival
← Back to Whiteout SurvivalDeceit Survival, could be the new title. So it appears $ was spent from the Devs for WS to be a promoted AD in other games, videos, etc. However, how this was done, was with a "Candy Bar", something small, simple & sweet of an ad mini-game that, never appears in the actual game. What you end up getting is a "HUGE Gourmet menu" of a game. Same as MANY other games, overwhelming time investment & angles for a repeated real financial investment. Shame, because many would stay in WS it candy on menu.
It's definitely fun but absolutely NOTHING like the ads and the Play Store page says single player. It is only single player at the beginning. Then it is highly PvP. You WILL BE raided and lose resources and troops. Used to play another game with an identical format but I'm tired of the fight just to keep your stuff if you can't login for a few days. Ready for a casual single player. This is not it.
I tested this game in an ad where the polar bears were attacking but the game isnt at all like that. I do love city building type games which this is similar but its not why I was interested in playing it at all. The mini game ad is deceiving. I'm uninstalling the game. Unless the game changes to include the gameplay advertised and expected, I'm not recommending and will take my time and money elsewhere.
over been playing for a week just to be fair, but the gameplay has no relation to the adds. you tap a piece of land with a box around it, tap build, wait. rinse and repeat with increasing wait times. to pass the time waiting you can explore. use heros to explore and gather resources by placing them on a grid and tap flight. you can even tell it to auto fight. if your numbers are bigger you win.
There's too much going on with the game. Lots of random terminology, hard to follow things. The gear to upgrade seems unnecessary. There's just too much going on with the game. Plus, like it's been said before, it's nothing like the ads. I'm uninstall ING it now because I just realised that this is not the game I wanted nin the first place! 😅
Linear game designed for wealthy people who don't like critical thinking. The base game loop is not fun, it it just an endless management grind with pretty colors and animations. The game is constantly asking for your money to progress faster, but there is no strategy to it. Your choices don't really matter that much in terms of base gameplay. For example, there is no technique to growing your economy efficiently other than paying money or grinding. Also, there is no killing bears for meat.
I'm rating the ad actually. I have been playing the game for over 2 years. It's NOT AT ALL like these new ads or "screenshots". I have no clue where they are getting these screenshots. This is NOT the gameplay. This game is a alliance based war game with some little mini games that come and go based on the calendar. There is one mini game that does have some of these elements in it, but that's all. The main game is NOTHING like the new ads. Why they decided to be so misleading, I have no clue.
have gone months back-and-forth with customer support for a basic issue. Every response ranged from "I don't understand the issue" to "do you have a screenshot?" to "please describe the issue in more detail" to "you aren't checking the time zone conversion" (completely unrelated) to "we don't see any issue". Now they suddenly don't have a record of me ever submitting the issue. Between that and the pay-to-play stalemate of a game it's just not worth your time. EDIT: Facebook message was IGNORED!
Fake ads, the game play is just very boring updating of a town. nothing like the ads or the sample game play. i spent hours upgrading trying to see if it eventually becomes the game they advertise but I never saw it. so don't waste your time if you are hoping for the fun collecting of meat, serving, collecting money, hiring more hunters, it's not that game. that's just false advertising like so many games are doing these days.
Believe it or not, I downloaded this app because the ad for this game was actually super fun. It was only after downloading that I sadly realized this game was completely different from the ad. The ad was where you have a battle axe and fight a massive group of respawning polar bears. Fighting the bears gave you meat which you sold, letting you upgrade stuff. But the game is nothing like the ad. It made me mad. What a waste of time! It's literally just boring overhead building and upgrading.
Bait and switch - nothing like the advertisements, at all. This is a basic "wait for resources" style idle game where all you really do is wait for the clock to run out so you can gather resources or build something or train your troops. You can always, of course, click on any of the hundreds of advertisements that pop up in game trying to get you to spend real world money to speed these timers up. Eventually, you may get into some group-based PvP - but it's pay to win.
The game is good due to the lack of ads but once you start to get higher level in everything it takes so long to upgrade things. Currently I'm upgrading my furnace from level 25>26 and it takes fourteen days to upgrade. Now of course you can use boosts and such but that's extreme. If you want to do a lot of the events you need to log in every single day. Overall the game is okay but once you get beyond the initial hump of how difficult things are you aren't encouraged to keep playing enough.
It's absolutely nothing like the playable ad or the screenshots. This is the game Evony with snow. You'll progress rather fast doing base building until you hit around level 10. Then it will grind slower and slower, encouraging you to make micro-transactions to speed up your progress. You can make it easier by joining a strong alliance for support. But if you are considering downloading this based on the ads and screenshots then you're in for a surprise because none of that is in this game.
I played the add for this game and it was super fun. then downloaded the game and came across smth completely different from the ad. the ad was like where you make swords and stuff to fight a giant polar bear. fighting the polar bear gave you meat so you could upgrade stuff. but the game is nothing like the ad. it made me mad. what a waste of my time! its literally just building and upgrading. boring if I do say so myself
This "game" is nothing like the ads. It's become such a drain to "play" all it wants you to do is pay to play, eventually everything takes hours or multiple days to upgrade or research, unless you use speed ups which of course cost money. The events are nothing but a way to get you to spend money and of course they aren't worth doing because the rewards aren't worth it. Your limited to only a few characters since most legendaries are locked behind the paywall. Honestly I would skip this
The overall game is fun,& addicting. Quite the amazing world building game, but I'm giving one star because it ultimately becomes a play to win game. If you start an alliance within the game, and try for the main goal of that state, someone else is going to come in and pay a couple hundred dollars and basically overpower you and destroy everything you've built. Ive played this game for going on 3 weeks now, and I have two characters, one I spent money on, and one free, guess which is better?
Was a decent game until I switched phones and lost all my progress. Which included money spent in the game. Got ahold of "service," and they needed all the information, including screenshots of all my information for the account I no longer have access to. If you don't plan on switching devices anytime soon, if you don't plan on spending money, or if you don't mind starting over at square one, it's not a bad game to play.
The game is fine, played for quite few hours here and there, and it's interesting enough to play, but it's vastly different from the advertisements I've seen for it. I understand ads need to be eye catching and simplified, but the ad that got me to check it out didn't play like an idle game at all. False advertisement isn't going to make people keep playing the game, it's going to make people annoyed that it isn't what they thought it was.
Not a survival game and not as advertised. Pro-tip: run from merge for as long and as hard as you can. You think it might be okay, but it is just the devs feeding literally everyone who isnt a whale to the whales. Why? I guess we aren't spending enough money anymore. Just transfer as high as you can every transfer until you can no longer do that and then play for as long as you can as a F2P. Then, do the same thing in whatever their next game is (for now, Kingshot is a STRIAGHT rip off.)
