The game runs well, the graphics are scaled down I'd even say the switch version looks better, still fun. I'm running a One plus Nord N10 and I've already encountered a bug. On the second mission, the map went black. It was easily remidied by loading up the previous round but a little concerning since I'd only played for about an hour. Still, I am happy with my purchase and recommend this to any one who enjoys trpgs but expect a few bugs. Especially if ur phone isn't supported.
Reviews for XCOM 2 Collection
Incredible for what it is. XCOM 2 is the single best strategy game of the modern era and it's one that a lot of much more powerful hardware still really struggles with. This port is far from perfect but it's a BIG step up from the port of Enemy Within. The UI is better designed for touch controls and even though it runs pretty choppy, interacting with it is a lot less clunky than Enemy Within. I'm playing on a 4 year old phone and I'm frankly blown away this game can work as well as it does
Overall, it's a great mobile port of the XCOM 2 game. It even improves upon the original game in a few slight aspects. However, the frequent crashes are a problem, especially when you're blocked from progressing through the game, reaching a point where you're going to get the same crash at the same time, with the same mission. Reloading did nothing and trying to change the path of choices did nothing...great game, but game breaking faults.
Xcom 2 in itself seems to be a fantastic experience. Ported to mobile and compared to Xcom Enemy Within's port. This game looks, sounds, and sometimes plays better. The controls are intuitive and make sense, and the game can take a while to start, but you just have to be patient. The game drains the battery relatively quickly, so be aware and may crash rarely in my experience, but overall, it's a fantastic port after 2 playthroughs and 75 hours of play time. Don't expect amazing graphics tho.
Amazing port of the PC version on mobile. As of this writing, the game is less than a month old. There are a few glitches and the graphics are not as crisp as the first mobile xcom game, but as updates come out some of this can be remedied. The price is steep for an android game but it is more than worth it. You will get hours of quality gaming on par with the PC, no in app purchases, and no advertisements. I hope more developers put out quality products line this one.
The entire game is here and it feels amazing with touch controls. No crashes after 10+ hours of play. A few niggles. I wish there were achievements, the gamma needs to be turned up due to very dark maps, and the sound quality of the music is very compressed. I totally understand the need to compress for such a large game, just wish there was an option to download high quality music/sfx. Also when at full zoom the touch is too sensitive. Overall 9/10 would definitely buy again!
It's XCOM 2 on my phone. What's not to love? I mean aside from numerous graphical glitches, strange issues with timing, and the fact that ironman is unplayable because the autosave system sometimes just doesn't work at all. It's also the biggest battery hog I've ever seen. It can drain my phone to 0 in just a few hours, and that's on "battery saver" graphics. I still like it though.
Lemme begin with this. I have this on PC and love it. My PC at the time of the game's release could barely run it. Barely. Getting this working on my phone is a miracle. Massive appluad for that alone. But it doesn't stop there. The way the controls have been designed, placed, and the response from the developers in reviews are all top notch. It even feels like they've patched the game to fix them as the problems I've read about aren't the case for me. Load times are short. Gameplay is smooth.
Game is good. Has issues. I set to 2 press moves, and often, it moves with 1 press. I feel some spacial awareness problem. Don't feel this on console. Maybe it's just me, but i can't tell where i am all the time. Main issue is the 2 press to move not always working. Very often i tap to check cover, and the guy moves. Overall, good port. Needs work.
Pros: It's XCOM! A great game that's fun and interesting. Cons: Only works on some phones. If you're using an unsupported phone like me, the graphics can get really grainy, and the combat cutscenes can get laggy. Cutscenes can also lag, and may make you have to restart the game multiple times. When you're fighting the lost, the audio can get loud and choppy, as well as when you are commanding units when command is talking. Even so, the content of the game isn't blocked if you're unsupported.
