So here's my take on SIMULACRA 3 - I've tested a bunch of these found-phone horror games and this one's a pretty solid entry. The story and atmosphere are the real strengths, with some genuinely creepy and unsettling moments. The investigative gameplay is engaging, even if it can get a little tedious at times. Compared to the first two SIMULACRA games, I'd say the narrative here is stronger and the mechanics are a bit tighter. But it's still not perfect - the difficulty spikes can be frustrating and the town map is kind of a pain to navigate. Overall though, if you're a fan of this genre, SIMULACRA 3 is worth a download.

Description

Been playing SIMULACRA 3 for a couple months now. It’s basically a narrative-driven horror game where you find a missing investigator’s phone and dig into the weird stuff happening in this town. Looks like people are just vanishing, leaving these creepy symbols behind. You’ve gotta comb through the guy’s phone and map app to try and figure out what’s going on.

There’s all these messed up videos and messages you find that start to piece together the mystery. You can also talk to the locals to get more clues. It’s got a pretty cool found-phone vibe, kinda like you’re actually investigating this case.

Look, if you’re into spooky stuff and don’t mind a bit of a slow burn, you’ll probably like this. It’s not gonna blow your mind, but it’s a solid little horror game that kept me interested. Just be ready for a few frustrations – the town map can be a pain and some of the puzzles are a bit obtuse. But overall, I’d say it’s worth checking out.
