Description
I’ve been using Chambers Thesaurus for a couple months now. It’s basically a huge reference app for writers, word game fans, and anyone who loves language. Pretty solid if you’re into that kind of thing.
Here’s what you can do: there’s an alphabetical listing of nearly 40,000 words with over 400,000 synonyms and antonyms. It’s got spelling suggestions, a sounds-like search, and even a pattern matching tool. And you can filter results by part of speech too. And it’s got links to online dictionaries – super handy.
Look, if you’re a writer or just love playing word games, you’ll probably dig this app. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a bit clunky at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out for sure.
Editor Opinion
So here's my take on Chambers Thesaurus. I've tested a bunch of reference and writing apps, and this one's pretty solid. The sheer volume of words and features is impressive, and I like how you can really dive deep to find that perfect synonym. The search tools work well, and it's great that you can cross-reference to other dictionaries. But I do find the UI a little dated and not super intuitive, especially for some of the more advanced functions. And the ads can get annoying if you don't pay. Overall though, it's a super useful tool that I'd recommend, especially for regular writers or word nerds like myself.

Extraordinary thesaurus… a perfect complement to Chambers Dictionary.
I paid for this and it still has ads. Very disappointing.
I absolutely love Chambers Thesaurus. Probably the most useful tool on my smartphone. Excellent.
