Reviews for Endel: Focus, Relax & Sleep

← Back to Endel: Focus, Relax & Sleep

So far, I really like it. I usually listen to ambient music so it's nice. Some things that are annoying: I couldn't find how to play the sounds on desktop (windows). There also seems to be some weird caching issue with the site where it does not remember that I'm signed in. It's also annoying the app doesn't recognize that my device isn't capable of reading my heart rate. If no input is detected after n length of time, the permission should be disabled automatically. Instead, now I have to do it

Not really a fan of having the automatic subscription button (which pops up upon initial setup) be titled "Continue", as well as the app asking for permissions such as health, location, and more. I'm sure some of these are used for some purpose, but combined with using a free trial -> subscription model that attempts to trick people into paying subscription fees is enough to make me steer clear of this app. I'm sure the dev team is working hard, but I can't support that.

I like Endel. I cannot recommend it. Some of the things it did like the sleep noises and the smart wakeup are genuinely good ideas I haven't seen elsewhere. But it's buggy. You can't really use as an alarm because some mornings the smart alarm doesn't go off. And even after closing it, it would stick in my notifications as still playing. But the biggest buzzkill is the pricing. This should be sub $5 a month, and sub $40 or less a year. Their current pricing is ridiculous for what this does.

I just started using it and the music settings are actually far more enjoyable than I expected, and don't distract me when working. I'll update later once I use it more. Update: the app works fairly well, but it's an energy-hog due to generating some of the music on the device. You need to keep battery restrictions disabled or else it may crash if left open in the background.

This app looked really great, but the cost is hidden at the end of a series of questions, and after you've linked your social media, or given them your email. Only THEN could I see how expensive this truly is, and even though I can't afford it, now you've got my data to sell anyway. I don't care how fantastic this app may be, this is an extremely dishonest, scammy way to get people to sign up for a subscription. Just post the price up front, don't be all sneaky about it like every 1⭐️ app.

Im using it free, just by clicking x every time there is a prompt, but I gotta tell ya. Some times I'm in the process of waking up and I think it bugged and isn't playing anymore, but when I pick up the phone and pause it the silence is deafening. It completely naturalizes into background sound, so much that I keep forgetting that it's even playing, which is perfect for sleep. I used to sit and watch YouTube in bed, but this seems like it can replace that over time. 🤌

I really wish the app performed well, but as it is I can't spend the money on the subscription. I love the music and I do feel it helps. My favorite feature is the focus timer, but it always stops working. I have never once had it work all the way through a long break. Anything seems to make it "forget" I had a timer going and just revert to generic music. I am switch to apple later this year and I will retry it there in hopes it is better.

Uninstalled You must sign up & Verify for an account to find out that there is a price of 119$ per year. I'm guessing knowledge upfront of price options would have lowered the account signup numbers. It was like : " hi there, trickery, BAM!!". These days of inflation, I can find many needed ways to utilize that 119$. Oh, there is a 7-day free trial. Hmmm, I can't wait for the spam to begin.

I really, and I sincerely mean really, want to just love, love, love this app. I love the beautiful simple design. I love the sounds and ability to customize them. So why only 3 stars? Their subscription model, or should I say lack of one. First, $100/yr is nuts. Second, while they run specials or deals, you can be prompted with at least three different prices during the same session. This tells me they'll accept anything, just please subscribe. Get it together Endel, and drop the $100 start...

I installed the app excited but they have a 50$ subscription for a year. That's a lot for an app that doesn't give you audio forever, that is a monthly fee. I was willing to pay 50$ if I could keep the app and the music for a 1 time price. But only for a month. Come on that's not satisfying enough. Tough too. Good idea executed poorly. I'll stick with youtube, whatever I am feeling just look it up and I receive. Free admission.

Tldr; Limited casting options, too pricey. It's a neat concept, I was especially hopeful of the prospect of drawing inspiration from my environment as cues for the ambience (time of day, weather, heart rate, activity). However, in practice this doesn't do anything that a handful of playlists I follow on Spotify already do, and those don't cost me some 60 dollars annually. Fun concept, but I'm just not seeing the value. Apps of late need to relax with their pricing and offer a one-time-buy.

You may not believe that it works as well as it does, but I get much more done when this is playing. It's customizable between relaxation, and different productivity types. There's enough variation in the sounds to allow you to choose what gets you going. I have found that the day after I have listened for most of the day, I feel like my focus is depleted, so I use it on Friday for as long as needed, or 2-3 hours at the end of those days that I need to go into turbo mode to finish up my work

I like a lot of ideas behind this app, and I did enjoy using it during the trial. However, for a subscription app, it doesn't do everything it claims, mostly because it relies solely on Google fit data, which I don't have. Add more fitness tracker apps (i.e: Fitbit, Garmin, etc) sync function and I'd be much more willing to pay.

The Endel App plays music and sounds for focus, sleep, relaxation, and mood enhancement. It's ok, not as good as Calm for the price. If it was less expensive or more robust, it would easily score a 5, but as is, it doesn't do much more than the right Spotify playlist. I like it, it's just not worth it. Oh, one thing - the AI Lullaby is creepy. Listen for fun, but don't forget and start to fall asleep. You'll have nightmares.

The free trial is a joke. I didn't find the app useful and have not found a way to cancel. The app shows I have the premium service but says I dont have a subscription. Endle directs me to cancel the subscription on Google Play. Google Play shows no record of a subscription or transaction. Yet, my account has been charged. I'm going in loops. I can't cancel a subscription no one has a record of. This feels like entrapment. I have disputed the chaege with my bank.

I paid for a one-year subscription. And I can't even log in via Google on my phone. It works on my web browser, and it works as a PWA. But that's about it. No native app support. I keep getting a tracker error and an infinite loading loop. I have tried reaching out via their website and Discord, but there has been no response. Very disappointed because the concept seems so cool.

I really enjoy the app. I've been using it for a while. My one gripe is with tuning the nature sounds. sometimes the sounds I want to combine can't be done with the radial tuner. for example, I just want rain and thunder with no ocean or wind, or rain and fire. I'd like a pick-and-choose, maybe with an intensity slider for each sound.

I would love it if the programs reliably played for the duration they claim they will. But they don't. Even with the awareness that I was told, with the free version the most I'll get is 10min at a time. That's not how it works, and customer service has never been able to answer my questions. Three different times their advice was "that won't keep happening if you pay to use the app."

The in-app purchase o f the premium version is completely broken on Samsung Galaxy Z-Fold 6. I purchased a year, and cannot use anything but the free options. I work in IT, and tried every conceivable troubleshooting step to get it to give me access to what I paid for. Sadly, no luck. what a waste of $100. I want what I paid for more than I want the money. I hope the devs read the reviews, if so please update to fix your app and I'll update this review.

I selected 7 day trial, and it still charged me $130 immediately. I was wondering if it was crispy recognizing the 7 day trial toggle, so I googled it multiple times, closed and reopened the app, but it still didn't give me the trial. Give me my money back and I'll update the review, and maybe even agree to pay for it instead of getting scammed by you.
