Description
I’ve been using Photos (for Nextcloud) for a couple months now. It’s basically a photo management app that integrates with your Nextcloud cloud storage. Pretty solid if you’re into organizing and editing your pics.
Here’s what you can do – you can upload photos, create albums, and even do some basic editing like cropping and enhancing. There’s also some cool features like JPEG XL support and machine learning-powered photo enhancements. And you can sign into multiple Nextcloud servers, which is handy.
Look, if you use Nextcloud and want a nice photo app, this is worth checking out. It’s not perfect – the album management could be more flexible for example – but overall it does the job pretty well. Definitely better than the basic Nextcloud photos app.
Editor Opinion
So here's my take on Photos (for Nextcloud). I've tested a bunch of Nextcloud photo apps and this one's one of the better options. The editing tools are pretty solid, and the integrations with other Nextcloud features like facial recognition are really nice. And not gonna lie though, the app can get a little slow and clunky at times. And the UI is functional but not the most intuitive. But if you need a capable Nextcloud photo manager, this is a pretty good choice.
