Response to the response: So pretty much, the "free" tag on the play store is a lie. I know why you guys won't list it as a paid app for a one time purchase as well. It's just following the trend of modern society where you have to subscribe to everything. There should at least be an option when you download it to buy it outright, alongside the subscription model. It would probably cost the user more to buy, but would pay off in the long run as that's one less subscription draining their money.
Reviews for TapeACall: Call Recorder
The app worked well. I just didn't need it any longer. Cancelled but the subscription renewal went through anyway. Not only that it was 3 times the original amount. So they charged my Paypal $149.59. I complained to Paypal who agreed and gave me a refund. Unfortunately, due to a typo in my complaint they only refunded the .59. So I paid for a full year essentially and my subscription is cancelled and the app is unusable. Reaching TapACall impossible. A rip off.
I was offered the option of the $5.99+tax plan or the 7-day fee trial for $39.99+tax, so I picked the $5.99 package. It was supposed to be a one time fee. Over two days I used it three times and found out i was getting charged each time. I contacted customer care and they quoted me two different prices. They never mentioned the $5.99 deal that was listed on their app. The quotes I got were for either $39.99 or $59.99. This really sucks because the app does work like it's supposed to.
Always try the free trial first. I installed the app, paid for the yearly service, allowed all the permissions. However, it never works on a call. I just get a notification on the bottom of my phone to check my subscription... I may contest with my bank if support doesn't reach out with a solution (I did email support).
Scam. Downloaded fine. And that was the end of anything useful. App won't let me past the "optional" subscription. You have to sign up for at least a "free" trial period and give them cc details. But of course you can't unsubscribe, so good luck ever canceling. I can't review the app itself, bulecuase I couldn't use it.
It worked well at first, but now my calls don't merge properly half of the time. I rely on phone call recordings for parts of my job, so it's a huge inconvenience if I don't know whether the call will work or not. I know other people who use it without issues, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I have checked and my issues aren't caused by my cell provider.
I'm very frustrated. I canceled during my free trial, yet was still charged 40 dollars for a year's subscription. I've reached out several times at this point and was told weeks ago that I'd be refunded and nothing ever came. So, folks, if you're fine with paying this scam of an app, try it out. But expect to be fleeced by a company with zero customer service. It's a scam.
I really enjoy this phone recorder. The audio has exceptional sound and easy to use also. Great audio/ phone recorder for any phone, incoming calls or outgoing calls. I haven't had any problems at all with this app. Try it! It looks complicated at first, but it's so easy to use....Just try it, you'll be pleased how easy this Tape A Call is. It's the way to go if you're in need for taping phone calls. Enjoy, because I have for many years. jrh
Very, very glitchy, sometimes I cannot merge call for some unknown reason. Then, I read a review that it alerts someone that they're on a conference call. Why? I'm paying for this. Utter waste of money. Also, I'm not seeing the inbound call on my call record. Why not? Don't waste your money on this. If the call started automatically without the announcement, it'd probably be a five star review. But this app really deserves 1-2 stars at best.
Not suitable for discreet recording, unless the other caller is on an Apple device. Needs better description. You conference call to a third number and then press record. I have an Android phone and the other person, if Android, is alerted on their phone that it is a conference call. There are several steps, including pausing the incoming call, in order to record so practice is necessary. I like how it doesn't record all calls and doesn't need.a separate dialing app, though.
