So here's my honest take on Wall Framing Calculator. I've tried a bunch of DIY and home improvement apps, and this one's pretty solid. The core functionality works really well - it's super convenient to just punch in your wall dimensions and get all the materials calculated. The nails/screws estimator is a nice bonus feature too. The UI is a little dated, but it's easy enough to use. My only real gripe is the ads, which can get kind of annoying. But for a free app, it's hard to complain too much. Overall, if you do any kind of framing work, this is a really handy tool to have in your pocket.

Description

I’ve been using Wall Framing Calculator for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that helps you figure out how many studs, nails, and boards you need to frame a wall. Pretty solid if you’re into DIY home projects like that.

Here’s what you can do: you plug in the dimensions of your wall, select the stud spacing (like 16 or 24 inches), and it spits out all the materials you need. There’s also a feature to estimate the number of nails or screws – that’s kinda cool. And it’ll even tell you how many boards you need for the top and bottom plates. Took me a while to figure some of that out, but it’s all really useful.

Look, if you’re doing any kind of wall framing, you’ll probably find this app super helpful. It’s not perfect – the UI is a little basic and the ads can be annoying if you don’t pay. But overall it does the job and saves you a ton of time crunching the numbers yourself.
