Description
Been playing Niche – Breed and Evolve for a couple months now. It’s basically a genetics and breeding simulation game where you take care of cute little animal creatures called Nichelings. You can breed them, grow your pack, and explore different islands and biomes. There’s a ton of different gene combinations to discover through selective breeding, which is pretty cool if you’re into that sort of thing.
Here’s what you do: You start off with a small pack of Nichelings and you’ve gotta breed them to make your pack stronger. And there’s also cool features like encountering new enemies and trying to adapt your Nichelings to survive in different environments. Took me a while to get the hang of the breeding mechanics but it’s pretty intuitive once you figure it out.
Look, if you’re into simulation and strategy games, you’ll probably get a kick out of this. It’s not perfect – the progression does get a bit grindy at higher levels – but overall it’s a solid and addictive little game. Worth checking out, especially if you’re a fan of genetics and breeding mechanics.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take on Niche - Breed and Evolve. I've tested a bunch of simulation and strategy games on my blog and this one's a pretty solid entry. The genetics and breeding system is really robust and satisfying to dig into, with tons of different gene combinations to discover. The visuals are great too - the Nichelings are super cute and the different biomes look awesome. In my experience, the core gameplay loop of building up your pack is really engaging, at least for the first several hours. But I will say it does get a little repetitive and grindy after a while, even if you're a fan of the genre. Overall though, I'd recommend it if you're looking for a cute, addictive sim game with a unique genetics twist.
