So here's my honest take on Unboxing the Cryptic Killer. I've tested a bunch of puzzle games and this one's pretty solid. The cooperative aspect is what really makes it stand out - you and your partner have to communicate and think through things together, which adds a cool social element. The production values are great too, with nice graphics and an intriguing story. But it's not without its issues. The difficulty curve can be a bit uneven and the loading times are a tad slow. Overall though, if you're a fan of point-and-click puzzlers and have a friend to play with, this is worth checking out.

Description

Been playing Unboxing the Cryptic Killer for a couple months now. It’s basically a cooperative point-and-click puzzle game where you team up with a friend to solve mysteries. The first standalone chapter in the Cryptic Killer series, it’s got you and your partner playing as detectives Ally and Old Dog who get caught up in a chilling case.

Here’s what you do: you and your friend have to work together to unravel puzzles and escape these tricky situations. There’s also a discord community you can join to find a partner if you don’t have one. It takes some teamwork and communication, but it’s a pretty fun time.

Look, if you’re into puzzle games and don’t mind needing a friend to play with, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the difficulty can spike at times and the loading times are a bit slow – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want a new cooperative challenge.
