The two margins stacked on a break slot
A break sells for more than the box costs — that gap is the breaker's fee, and it is usually 20–35%. On top of that sits the ordinary gap between what a box costs and what its contents are worth, which is negative to begin with. A slot buyer pays both.
Why team share is the number that matters
Slots are usually priced by demand rather than by expected value, and the two diverge sharply. A team with three chase rookies carries far more than a thirtieth of the box, and its slot price reflects that — often more than proportionally. The teams that are systematically fair value are the unglamorous ones nobody wants, which is the only reliable edge available to a slot buyer.

What is a random team break?
You pay a flat price and the teams are assigned by a randomiser after the room fills. It removes the pricing question entirely and gives you the room average — the total paid divided by the number of teams — which sits reliably below the expected value of the box itself.
