So here's my take on iNaturalist. I've tried a bunch of nature and wildlife apps, and this one's pretty solid. The community aspect is great - you can get help from real experts to ID that weird bug you found. And I like how you can contribute your own sightings to research projects. The AI is getting better at IDs too, though it's not 100% accurate. Honestly, it's a great way to explore and learn more about the plants and animals around you.

Description

Been using iNaturalist for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that helps you identify the plants and animals around you. Pretty cool if you’re into nature and exploring the outdoors.

Here’s what you do: You take a photo of a bird, bug, flower, or whatever, and the app will try to identify it. There’s also a community of other users who can help out if the AI is stumped. And you can record your own observations and contribute to scientific research – which is a nice bonus.

Look, if you’re into learning more about the natural world, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the ID suggestions can be off sometimes – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.

Amazing community to upload and find species of living things. The map exploration is fun to find some of my favorite plants and look out for plants during a hike....

I love that I can identify almost anything and that it helps contribute to science. But I really wish once identified I could get some more information about the plant/...

I think a lot if people misunderstand what the app does. It allows you to upload observations to the iNaturialist website, where people from all over the world can help...
