So here's my honest take on Clef Trainer Grid. I've tested a bunch of music training apps and this one's pretty solid. The core note reading and input features work really well, and I like the different modes to keep things fresh. It's not the flashiest app out there but it gets the job done. Only real downsides are the grindy upgrade system and ads, but you can work around those.

Description

Been using Clef Trainer Grid for a couple months now. It’s basically an app to help you practice reading and inputting music notes. Pretty solid if you’re into music theory and learning instruments.

Here’s what you do: there’s this grid where you can tap out notes, or plug in a keyboard, or even use the mic to play notes. It’s got support for all the different clefs and key signatures too. And there’s a special scrambled grid mode that’s supposed to help you learn the notes instead of just the app.

Look, if you’re trying to get better at reading sheet music, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the higher level upgrades take forever and the ads can get annoying. But overall it does the job and is worth checking out.
