Been using Rock & Crystal Identifier – ID for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you take a photo of a rock or mineral and it’ll tell you what it is. Pretty solid if you’re into geology and the natural world.
Here’s what you do: you can either snap a pic of the rock you found or just upload an image, and the app will identify it. There’s also a cool search feature where you can browse through thousands of different types of rocks and gems. Took me a while to figure that part out but it’s actually pretty useful.
Look, if you’re into identifying rocks and minerals, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the database isn’t 100% complete and there are a few ads – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you’re curious about geology.
