So here's my honest take on Mind Monitor. I've tested a bunch of health/fitness apps and this one's pretty solid. The data visualization is really well done and I like how you can dig into the details. But it does take some work to get everything set up properly. And the wireless streaming can be a bit iffy sometimes. Overall though, if you're into this kind of thing, Mind Monitor is a great option. Gives you a ton of insights into your brain activity.

Description

Been using Mind Monitor for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you see what’s going on inside your brain in real-time. Basically, you connect it to this Muse headband thingy and it shows you all kinds of brainwave data – like a professional-grade spectrogram, frequency breakdown, and raw microvolts. There’s also stuff like gyroscope and accelerometer data. You can record all this stuff and even graph it online later. Pretty cool if you’re into that sort of thing.

Here’s what you do: you can split the data by channel, left/right brain, front/back, or individual sensors. And you can record it all to an Excel file or some Muse format for playing back later. There’s also this wireless OSC streaming thing, in case you wanna monitor your brain activity remotely. Took me a while to figure that one out but it’s useful.

Look, if you’re into brain-monitoring and quantified self-type apps, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the setup can be a bit finicky at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you’ve got a Muse headband.
